It was the day of their wedding. Lia in a gorgeous black dress and Ryder in dashing black tux. Lia smiled as her father took her hand in his. He led her outside of her room and down the aisle. Ryder smiled as he watched his future wife walk to stand in front of him. She took a few more steps and stopped. Her dad kissed her cheek and left to take a seat. She walked up and stood right in front of the man she would eventually be able to say was her husband.
The priest went on and on about love. He stopped for objections and continued. When it was time for vows, both Lia and Ryder smiled. Ryder went first and his vows were the most precious thing to her. A tear slid down both of their faces as he continued and when he was done, she wiped the tear from his face.
Lia started her vows and Ryder could feel his eyes tear up again. Her words were like music to his ears and he couldn't help but give her hands a gentle squeeze. When she was done with her vows, the priest had Xion walk up with rings on a pillow. Sweet little three year old Xion made his way down the aisle and handed the pillow over to the priest. They each placed a ring on one another's finger.
"Do you, Ryder, take Ms. Anderson as your lovely wedded wife. Through sickness and in health. Till death do you part?" the priest asked.
"I do." Ryder said with a smile that could melt the world.
"And do you, Lia, take Mr. Perez as your lovely wedded husband. Through sickness and in health. Till death do you part?"
"I do." Lia said, as more tears fell from her eyes.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." the priest said.
Lia and Ryder both smiled and endured a long and waited kiss. People cheered as they kissed and rose petals fell from above. Their kiss lasted for as long as they wanted. The only thing they felt was happiness.
"Remember it's us," Ryder started.
"Against the world." Lia smiled.
Time passed and before they knew it, their song was playing. Perfect by Ed Sheeran.
"May I have this dance, mi amor?" Ryder asked her.
"Of course you can, mi mundo." Lia smiled at him.
This was going to be a moment they were both going to hang on to for the rest of their lives.
