For generations, the female and male heirs of the Malfoy family have been married off to other, rich and pureblood families. It was all arranged by the parents.
After all, they couldn't break tradition.
Draco Malfoy refused to get married to just anybody. He grew up reading books about true love and first kisses.
He fell in love with falling in love. He fell in love with love. He adored the idea of loving someone so deeply and carely that you'd be willing to sacrifice your comfort.
He loved loving someone.
As a child, his parents drowned him in love. He had a beautiful childhood full of laughter, joy and love.
His parents were the best.
Until they told him about the tradition. The tradition of arranged marriage, of marrying a stranger without even knowing anything about them.
He refused to entertain the idea of being tied to a stranger for life. So he sulked and planned to run away.
His bags were packed, his possessions all safely tucked inside.
"Master Malfoy," Came the squeaky voice of the caretaker, Dobby, "You is leaving?"
"Don't tell anybody, Dobby."
The said caretaker's eyes widened fearfully at the stern voice and nodded before leaving. "I won't." He had squeaked soflty.
"Draco!" He heard his name being called by his mother, "Darling, they're here to meet you!"
Before she could enter his room, he went outside and blocked her view of the bags on his bed. "Who's here?" He asked nervously.
"The one we have arranged your marriage with." She smiled brightly, "You're going to love him. He's perfect for you!"
Of course they got a boy for him. After all, even after disclosing that he was gay didn't put them off their mission to get him married.
Draco sighed, "Mother, you know I-"
"Draco." She said sternly, "Son, you know it's tradition. We listened to you when you said you didn't want to marry a girl, we have finally got an amazing boy for you to marry. Meet him today." She smiled gently.
"It's important that you meet him, son." She sighed sadly, "Do it for me."
"Okay, fine. I'll meet him." He said, now unable to resist. She relaxed, "Thank you. I promise you aren't going to regret it."
He nodded mutely and she left, her silver hair shimmering.
He closed his eyed and rubbed his temple with his forefingers. This was the last thing he would be doing for his parents.
He went back into his room and changed into his finest suit.
Dobby knocked at his open door, signalling him to join his parents in the living room.
Draco sighed and pulled up his largest smile and walked breezily into the living room.
They lived in a huge mansion, the living room was large enough to fill two buses. Pictures of his younger self adorned the walls and the sofa was a dark green color, just the way he liked it.
His parents were sitting with three people. Two black haired men who looked exceedingly alike and a woman with bright red hair and bright green eyes.
"Hello," Said the youngest of the lot as he saw Draco come in.
He had a bright smile, and Draco noticed, even brighter green eyes.
