His brain felt fuzzy, the small throb in his head rose, the ringing in his ears faded. Draco felt a sting of pain go through his leg, his arm was bent awkwardly, face pressing against a cold floor. His palm was nestled in a pool of blood, fingertips dipped in crimson. He could hear soft murmurs of voice around him, they pulled him awake and brought him back to senses.

In a few moments, everything came back to him. Harry. Ginny. The sound of gunshot. Riddle.

Someone kicked the side of his torso. He grunted in pain.

"Get away from him!" Harry yelled, voice raw and then groaned in pain.

"Looks like your son is awake, Lucius."

Draco's eyes opened slowly, he blinked a few times to get rid of blurry figures dancing in front his eyes.

A cold hand grasped the back of his shirt and hauled him up harshly, fingers pulling the fabric hard enough to choke him. Draco threw his arm around in a feeble attempt to push off the person who had gripped him, coughing loudly. The cool head of a gun was pressed into his neck.

"Shut up!" A female voice yelled at him. It was Aunt Bella, "Don't make a sound!" She loaded the gun and fear crawled up his chest.

Draco nodded and pressed his mouth close, wincing as the collar of his shirt loosened around his throat.

His father was standing next to Riddle, who was sneering at Draco through dark eyes. Ginny was standing behind him, face emotionless. Harry stood a few feet away from him, held by two burly looking men. He had a few cuts on his face and a bruise blooming on his cheek, face bent but eyes on Draco's every movement. Nobody else was in sight.

Harry's green eyes met Draco's and they were filled with concern. Draco looked away.

"Draco," Riddle spoke, his voice like a sharp knife digging into his head, "I expected better from you. After all, you are the son of Lucius." He tutted and clicked his fingers once.

Ginny handed him a gun and bowed her head when he praised her.

"You need to learn, Draco. You can't give up on family. I will help you reach greater heights. You will have a better life. A richer life. The Potter's have been wealthy for generations. Wouldn't you want yourself to enjoy those riches? Learn from Ginerva, she herself has learned that money is what she needs to survive and she joined us. Wouldn't you want to be a part of us, Draco?"

Draco didn't answer.

"Answer me!" He demanded.

"N-No.." Draco choked out, "I'd rather die than be one of you."

Lucius inhaled sharply, "Draco!" His eyes glinted with warning.

Riddle let out a humorless chuckle, "Seems like your son has a death wish, Lucius. Why don't we fulfill that?" He loaded the gun and raised it towards Draco's chest. Bellatrix's hold tightened on him, she lowered her own gun.

"Sir!" Lucius gasped and moved next to Draco, glancing at Bellatrix, "He's my son. Please let him go. He's naive. He doesn't understand. You-You have the Potters! The company will be yours!"

"I do not stand disloyalty, Lucius. You promised your family would be loyal to me."

"But Sir—!"

"Silence!" Riddle scowled. Lucius flinched and took a step back.

Draco closed his eyes in fear as Riddle locked his gaze onto him, smirking. He could hear Harry trying to wrestle out of the grip of the men that held him.

This was it. He was going to die.

He could feel his heart thundering in his ribcage.

A loud gunshot.

He was shoved aside harshly and Draco fell sideways into an armchair. His father had pushed him! His father took the hit for him. Blood oozed from his chest as he fell to the ground with a groan, his hand was outstretched towards the right, as if he had thrown something to the side.

Draco's head was spinning and his breathing got heavier.

"GRAB HIM!" Riddle yelled when Harry finally got away from the men by knocking out one of them and punching the other in his face. He ran towards Bellatrix and snatched the gun from her, hit her head with it but despite that, she stayed upright.

Her eyes glinted with malevolent glee and she grabbed him around the neck with an arm, scratching his face and digging her nails into his skin. He tried to get out her grip but she punched his gut and he fell to his knees in pain. It seemed like he had already been bruised there.

Draco raised his head and found a gun sitting next to his foot.

It was loaded. It looked like it had been thrown there. Draco glanced at his father's

"Nice try, Potter." Riddle smirked, "Get ready to join your beloved godfather." He raised his gun and loaded it. Harry growled and attempted to punch Bellatrix but she kicked his back, making him yowl in pain.

"NO!" Draco yelled and raised the gun to Riddle, "You are going to leave. Forever." With trembling hands, Draco pulled the trigger.

The force of the bullet pushed him back and a pain spread through his arm, reaching his shoulder and slicing through his back.

Harry harshly elbowed Bellatrix and the gun fell from her hands as she bent over in pain. He struck her head with his elbow and she fell to the floor unconscious.

"Draco!" Harry yelled as he stumbled backwards.

And for the second time in the day, Draco felt his senses closing and the world dimmed to black.
