First Kill

"T-they're what? But how?"

I didn't mention his last words to them being "I hate you!" I knew it wasn't something easy to talk about. I may not care about my last words to people I kill, but I know they're most important when they come from someone you care about.

"I don't know all the details, but it was a Villain attack at the mall. Donno the guy. The Heroes were there and they just... let mom and dad die.

"And the fact that they died would still hurt like hell, but that's only half of it. The other half is... well, you guessed it, the last thing I said to them." His voice cracked slightly.

"And that's why your soft?" I asked after a moment of pause. Kacchan nodded. He said, "I guess I changed because I guess that if I'm nicer, people might fight to see me again..."

Mitsuki and Masaru Bakugou were like my aunt and uncle. I always liked going over there as a child. Mitsuki was chaotic, sure, but she still cared about our safety. And Masaru wouldn't hurt a fly. Why didn't the Heroes do something?

"Those bastards..." I mumbled. "Well, Kacchan, you're not the only one who lost someone special. Majority of the people down here, became a Villain because of that, and others just know what that feels like. If you ever need to talk, I'm right here. Just, don't wake me up at 3:00 P.M. unless it's really important, or I will murder you."

I got him to chuckle a little. "Alright, I won't. Wait, don't you mean 3:00 A.M.?"

I yawned and gestured to his bedside clock that read '9:56 A.M. "Nope. It's already almost past my bedtime. We're nocturnal down here: you get used to the fucked up sleep schedule. Tomorrow, we can go out for some kills. Get your streak up and going. 'Night." I stood and walked from the room, grinning at Kacchan's complaints of "Nocturnal?"

"We'll have to stick to the roofs 'cause your quirk is too loud," I told the explosive boy next to me. He nodded, his blond spikes bobbing slightly. I could see his pupils dilating in the dark, trying desperately to adjust. I'll have to ask Mei-Lin to make him some night vision goggles. No matter how small she was, the girl could make some damn good inventions.

I climbed a nearby latter to get to the first roof. All the buildings were close together, so this shouldn't be too hard. I waited until Kacchan was next to me before tugging on my hood to make sure it was tight and jumping to the next roof.

I saw only one person, over at the park a few miles away. I pointed. "There's someone at the park. A boy, probably twenty. Wanna go at him?" Kacchan squinted. "I can't see him, but sure." I jumped to the next roof, and the next...

I stopped once we finally reached the bakery, the building closest to the target. I wasn't fazed my the long distance we ran, but Kacchan panted. A little too loud. The man shot up from the swing and looked around frantically for the source. I covered Kacchan's mouth and ducked down, pinning him to the ground under me. "Shhhhh!" I commanded in a whisper. "You don't want him to run."

He calmed down and turned slightly red. It took me a minute to realize our positions. I ignored it, though, and focused on the kill. The man had concluded that it was his imagination and sat back down. I uncovered my partner's mouth and stepped off him. "You wanna kill that guy?" He nodded. "Then go do it. I don't care how, but I wanna see how this plays out."

He jumped down with a silent thud and approached the man. I covered myself in my shadows and followed him.

"Sir?" The man jumped and turned. His eyes didn't register on me, which meant his quirk didn't let him see in the dark. To me, my disguise was poorly done and obviously not part of the background.

"Oh..." he sighed. "What are you doing out here so late? It's dangerous with that Yukiaku Villain running around." Kacchan scratched his neck. "I got lost... and bored. Mind if I chill with you? We can protect each other," he lied. I had to admit, it was pretty damn convincing.

The other man nodded and pointed to the swing next to min. Kacchan took it. "Ya know," he said, "I'm not the only one out here. May I ask why your here?"

"I think I might be able to see that killer guy."

I had to stifle a laugh. I was practically touching the guy, and he wants to see me? He's not doing a very good job of it at the moment.

Kacchan laughed, too. "I'm sorry, but if you see him, won't you be dead? That guy doesn't let anyone see him."

Shit!

"How are you so sure of 'his' gender?" the man asked. Kacchan realized his mistake.

"Well, because I've seen him."

What the hell are you doing? Dumbass!

"Didn't you just say that he doesn't show anyone his face? And like you said, you should be dead!"

"Well, a Villain doesn't kill his friend. Especially if that friend also had a thirst to kill."

Before I could say You just gave yourself away, idiot!, Kacchan was ontop of the guy, his hands at the other's throat.

The target struggled against his grip, making gurgling sounds. Kacchan was stronger, though, and didn't budge.

The scene felt like it never ended, but within two minutes  the man fell limp, slightly foaming at the mouth.

I uncovered myself. "Damn! And I thought you were an idiot! Good job!"

Kacchan stood and brushed his see-through tank top off. "The man was looking at me like a girl looks at a female stripper. It got on my nerves."

I laughed. "Now, let me get some kills in."
