The night was quiet. Too quiet.

I kept glancing around as we ran across the rooftops. My anxiety grew with every passing moment. Damn raccoons always made me think there was someone there.

And of course, there was the feeling that someone was watching us.

It wasn't Kacchan's gaze, though he did glance at me every once in a while - and his new night vision goggles helped him do just that. No, there was someone else there, watching, waiting. I would sometimes pause to see if I could catch them by surprise and hear their footsteps, but there was only Kacchan's.

I realized that my thoughts had trailed only when I missed a jump and fell into an alleyway.

Luckily the roof wasn't too far off the ground and I landed softly on my feet. Kacchan jumped down with me. "Dammit, Yamiaku," he whisper-yelled at me. "Pay closer attention to your footwork."

I opened my mouth to retort, but there was a disturbance in the shadows behind us. I rigged me and Kacchan out of the way just in time. A large spite of ice raced over the spot we were just in and glided up the wall of the furthermost building. Though it didn't touch us, my breath was slightly visible. We both looked towards the source, and I grinned.

"Shoto... Strange using your first name as your Hero name. Pretty stupid, too."

Asuka: Real quick, I'm not good with fight scenes.

He looked just like Father had described him: on the left side of his face he had red hair and a blue eye which had a nasty burn mark over it. On the right side, he had white hair and a grey eye. He looked like that guy off of the American movie. I think it was called 'Batman'.

Shoto scowled but only sent some more ice our way. I used my shadows to easily block it and send it to the right. "Nice quirk you got there. What are you gonna do, make us a slushy?" I teased, sending my shadows creeping along the floor to his feet. He obviously didn't see them.

To keep it that way, I moved to the side a little. He had us cornered in the alleyway, so if we had to fight, I wanted to get outa here as fast as we could.

Kacchan noticed my plan and held his hands toward our opponent.

The shadows reached Shoto and wrapped their way around his entire body. He grunted and squirmed in their grasp, making me laugh as I approached.

"So this is your infamous Hero? Is this all the world has to of-"

Suddenly there was a blinding flash of light from his left side. Red, orange, and yellow flames licked their way up his arm. My shadows couldn't work in the light and soon faded away. He kept backwards an amazing distance away from us. My smile got wides, though I knew he couldn't see it under my mask.

Oh this is going to be fun.
