"Do you want a drink?" Kurigiri offered, stepping behind the bar. I sat on a stool and said, "What is there to drink?"
"Standard beverages you find at a bar."
I pointed to the first bottle I saw behind him and he turned to grab it. As he poured the red liquid into a shot glass, I turned to Shigaraki. "Alright," he said, "what does your boss want from me."
"He wants to ask for your assistance," I explained. "He only asks that you join forces with us. He doesn't wish to command you or your colleges in any way, only that you aid the members of the Darkness in any way you can. He said that in return, you may have us target and kill, kidnap, or harm anyone who stands against you as you see fit. I can ask that he make an apparition of himself if you wish to speak further."
I picked up the drink that Kurogiri set next to me and took a sip. It left a burning sensation in the back of my throat but tasted sweet. I finished the glass and Kurogiri filled it silently.
"'Apparation?" Shigaraki questioned. "His quirk," I said, taking another sip. He nodded.
Just then, Bakugou sat down next to me. "Your side still hurt?" he asked. It was touching that he cared.
"A little, but it feels better." That was a lie. My wound was in searing pain. The only thing that kept me from screaming was clenching my fist until it bled. I can deal with it later. I turned to Crusty. "So, you in or what?" He thought about it. "Alright, I'll join forces with you." I smiled triumphantly and stood. "Well, we'd better go let Father know. Thank you for tending to our wounds. Come on, Kacchan."
On the way out the door, Dabi waved to me. "Be careful out there, kid," he warned. I nodded.
"Sure thing. You too, Touya." I walked out the door, not even looking back to see his reaction.
Once we were on the rooftops again, Kacchan said, "Who the hell is 'Touya'?" "Don't worry about it," I told him before creating my wings and grabbing hold of him.
Time skip brought to you by Midoriya getting sick and fuking tired of Bakugou.
After we told Father about his new allies, we went straight to bed, though I couldn't sleep.
I kept thinking about 'Dabi', also known as Touya Todoroki. He may look like a burnt piece of bacon, but I saw through his disguise. He is the son of Endeavor, the number 2 Hero. After a serious quirk malfunction, he was presumed dead. I wouldn't have guessed he was a Todoroki until I remembered this news report about him. That facial structure couldn't be forgotten if someone tried. And he acted like I was his brother. He grew up with two of them and a sister, so that's good.
I sighed and sat up. I need a shower. I went into my bathroom. As I undressed, I saw all my scars in the mirror.
They dotted my chest and thighs. I wrapped my bandages in plastic wrap so I didn't have to change them once I was done. As I turned, I saw my back. The biggest scar of all was seen there, stretching from my right shoulder to my left hip. My flesh there was marred, burned, and gruesome. It was by far my least favorite, and I'll never forget how I got it.
The thing is, I don't want to remember the day I lost him.
