The stayed like that, that small gap was all that was left. They both stood frozen, unsure of whether they should lean in any closer. Hunter could feel his lips tingling, the temptation was so much, Edric felt his own lips on fire, just waiting to be put out by the other's. With a deep breath Hunter leaned in, going on his tippy toes so he could reach, his ears hot and burning red, but then he stopped. Noticing Hunter's hesitation, Edric connected their lips. Hunter's arms hung loosely around Edric's neck. The taller tilted the blonde's chin up with one hand and used the other to hold the shorter's waist tightly. They separated, both breathing slowly, their faces illuminated by the rising sun. Hunter looked away shyly, his face going red as he tried to look anywhere but at Edric's beautiful face. He looked down only to see some cuts on his arm, out of sheer curiosity, he inspected it more, only to realize that they were more like letters of dried blood. He read it easily and soon enough his memory came back to him and so did his common sense. He realized almost instantly how close he was to Edric and immediately pushed him off yelping, Edric seemed to regain his composure and collected his thoughts not long after Hunter had. The blonde wondered why they had been so close, but it wasn't clear in his memory of what had just happened not even a minute ago. He inhaled; opening his eyes slowly, he recognized the area now! Not much farther till they could get out of this nightmare. "I know where we are," he said confidently, "We will get out. I promise," he said, placing an assuring hand on Edric's shoulder, who smiled in return at the gesture. Hunter turned around and began to walk quickly in a certain direction. The closer they got to the exit, the more the memory of the kiss faded from the blonde's subconscious mind, with every step Hunter felt more and more hopeful. And with every breath he took, Edric felt the guilt creeping up on him every second. It took every bone in his body for him to not just blurt out the truth, he did not even know how the other would react if he confessed! What if he made a mistake? What if Hunter never wanted to see or talk to him again? What if- The green haired boy's thoughts were stopped suddenly as his blonde companion came to an abrupt halt. "We did it, we made it out," Hunter breathed out, the wind blowing his hair, the single stray strand dangling carelessly. Edric smiled watching the other's face. Hunter's deep magenta eyes were lit up by the sunrise they were about to witness. "Sit quickly," Hunter commanded, taking a seat and motioning for the taller to do the same. Edric obliged willingly, comfortable silence found its' place in the air, as the two watched to sun emerge over the horizon, it's reflection glistening upon the lake out in the distance. From the mountain they sat upon, it was quite a sight to see, but nothing caught Edric's eye more than the boy sitting beside him. Hunter looked back at Edric, smiling nicely as he stood up slowly. "We should go, especially if we want to get across that lake before night fall," hunter said, his face was a bit pink, Edric swallowed hard the guilt retuning to him. "Y-yeah, we should," Edric replied. Hunter led, Edric trailing not far behind. Well...Truth is...Hunter could barely remember a thing... but Edric.... How was he supposed to tell the one person who trusted him and saw him as being useful, that he faked his inability to use his proper senses? That he faked his memory loss for the last few minutes of their walk in the forest, just to kiss someone who doesn't feel the same?

A/N- Let me know what you guys think! I rewrote the draft I had saved because I did not like it after re-reading it. Plus, this one was hard to write because I have schoolwork to do, and it is like 10:23 P.M.!!! Goodness gracious me, time flies!
