His eyes fluttered open, as he raised his head as quick as he could. Millions of thoughts raced through the young witch's head, but the one that stood out was 'I'm alive?' He couldn't be sure. A groan escaped the boy's mouth as he sat up, cringing at the searing pain in his wrist that came with the action. Edric blinked rapidly, his vision focusing and instant panic rose in his chest. They had fallen. Was he dead? No, the pain was enough to prove that. He swallowed, coughing violently due to his dry throat. He looked to his right and saw a foot sticking out from beyond the corner. His heart began to beat faster, 'Hunter' he thought. The taller was hesitant to check on his companion, worried that he would find an incredibly gruesome discovery. With a deep breath, he stood up and carefully made his way to the corner. Every step made his breath hitch, in one swift motion he peered around the corner. Edric expected to see Hunter's mangled corpse, instead he found the other seemingly in tact! At least that's what a physical examination with just his eyes told him. "Hunter?" He asked, his voice trembling more than he would have liked, a groan escaped the shorter's lips as he sat up wincing. Edric looked down and to his horror, Hunter's leg clearly was a bit disfigured. The blonde hissed in pain, slamming his fist hard against the rocks. "Hey hey, don't do that, you'll hurt yourself more," Edric said worriedly. Hunter breathed out shakily, tears built in his eyes as he panted aggressively. "Here let me-" "DON'T TOUCH ME!" The shorter yelled flinching as he tried to get away. "Please," he whispered it quietly, but Edric heard the small plead. "Look I'm sorry, just, stay still," Edric whispered. He stood up trying to find something to accommodate his partner. "I'm coming back, just wait here and I promise I'll be back soon," Edric said with a reassuring smile. "Not like I can go anywhere anyway," Hunter replied sheepishly, a goofy smile finding itself on his face, showing a small tooth gap. Edric laughed, hurrying off to find something that would do the trick, he ignored the searing pain in his wrist and back. This wasn't about him, it was about Hunter. He came across some vines and twigs, figuring he would make do with what he had found and retreated back to where they had fallen. Now would be a great time to use healing magic, he kind of regretted slacking off in that class. He used the resources he had found to support the injury and smiling as Hunter grabbed onto him for assistance. They made quick contact before turning their heads away and blushing. The two continued on in comfortable silence, Hunter glanced up at Edric, admiring his features. Beautiful golden eyes that competed with the sun everyday it rose, soft and fluffy green hair, and a smile that was stuck in Hunter's mind even when he dreamt. It was too perfect. Edric was too perfect. Way to good to ever have any feelings for someone like Hunter. But for once Hunter questioned if getting that ingredient for his uncle was really all that important...
