Chapter Twenty.

*One Year Later*

I was sitting in my dorm with Amber, her boyfriend Luke, Nash, Addison and my new boyfriend, Cameron. It's been one long, painful year. Jack has called me countless times and I've talked to him, but not much, it hurts. Do I still love Jack? More than anything, but, I was a danger. I was a threat to Jack, and if I really loved him I wouldn't put him in harms way. Cam is wonderful though, he's the sweetest. Addison understood why I had to let Jack go, no matter how painful it was. I was laying in Cam's lap laughing at something Nash said when suddenly I got about ten text messages. Addison looked up at me and gave me a look, we both knew who it was. I looked at my messages with Jack; 'Ari, I need you to call me'

'It's an emergency'

'Call me ASAP'

'Ari'

'Baby'

'I need you to call me'

'Right now'

'Emergency'

'Ari'

'Baby!'

'CALL ASAP'

I had to admit, I got worried. So, I quickly removed myself from the room and called him.

"Ari?" His voice cracked, I knew he was crying.

"Jack, what's wrong?" I knew he could hear the worry in my voice.

"I love you, I always will. I hope this won't hurt you too much... I'm about to die, Ari." I felt myself get panicked

"Jack? What are you talking about? You aren't going to..." I trailed off and began to cry.

"Life is nothing without you, Ari. I love you and if you aren't with me, life isn't worth living," He whispered.

"Jack no..." I cried.

"I'm sorry, Ari. Just always know I love you, okay? I'll be out of my pain."

"Jack, no! Don't you dare! We'll be together! I'll come home! We can be together again! Please, don't!" I sobbed into the phone. "Please," I whispered.

"I love you, always remember that, baby." Then, the phone went dead. I let out a blood curdling scream. Addison, Nash, Luke, Amber and Cam all came running out.

"What's happening?" Addison yelled as I lay on the floor sobbing. I grabbed my phone and called 911.

"911, what's your emergency?"

"My... boyfriend! I'm afraid he's about to commit suicide!" as I said that Addison let out a cry and hid in Nash's chest.

"Okay ma'am, calm down. What's the address?"

"I-I think 765 Lakeside Drive... I'm not sure if he's home," I cried into the phone.

"Okay, stay calm. Officers are on their way."

"Thank you," I cried before hanging up the phone. I sat and cried in the hallway as we all stood there listening to the sobs of Addison, Nash and I. Cam held me in his arms and kissed my head trying to soothe me. Suddenly, I heard my phone ring. We all looked up and watched it, it was his mom. I took a deep breath and answered.

"H-Hello?" My voice cracked.

"You tried, Ari. I'm sorry... He's gone." She whispered. I let out the most loud, blood curdling scream ever.

"No, no, this isn't happening, this is a dream..." I whispered.

"I wish it was..." She whispered before the phone went dead.
