The slow fall.

Tommy looks at me attentively, waiting for a response. "That's cool," he smiles, nervously rubbing a hand on his neck. "That's a relief, I thought you were purposely avoiding me."

Tommy lets out a light laugh. "No, I just had some editing and things that I had to finish." I look to the sky like I often do I wonder who else is watching the sky. Tommy follows my gaze and I smile I know at least one person is starring into the abyss with me.

"Do you ever wonder how many other people are staring into the sky with you?" Tommy turns to me but I keep my eyes locked on the sky.

"No, not really." I smile watching the sky turn pink and yellow. "Maybe the sky they're looking at is full of stars or is lit up by the morning sun."

My words are slurred with exhaustion. Tommy pats my shoulder, "I think its time to get you to bed." I yawn in response and Tommy laughs.

He stands up with a huff and extends his arm out to me. "I can call a taxi." He offers I nod, "That would be nice," Tommy lifts me up and walks me over to a bench.

I rest my head on his shoulder to tired to care how awkward the situation is. Tommy doesn't seem to mind very much anyway.

Soon enough the taxi arrives. We hop in and I give the driver my address, Tommy starts to dose off slightly. I shake him awake when we reach my apartment block.

"Do you wanna stay at mine, I have a spare room." I was thankful the spare room was actually clean. I cringe thinking about the rest of the apartment. Tommy nods and pays the driver, sleepily we walk up to my apartment.

Tommy pays no mind to the mess. I lead him to the bedroom and he flops onto the bed. I head towards my room, but grimace when I catch sight of my messy apartment. Tommy may have been to sleepy to not realize the mess.

But when he wakes up in the morning he wont be able to ignore it. I let out a long groan and waddle over to the kitchen to make coffee.

I clean my entire apartment. Wiping the sweat off my forehead I glance around, content with the cleanliness of my apartment.

Sighing I walk down the hall way to my room. I glance into Tommy's room, his shoes are still on and he's snoring loudly. I walk into his room quietly and slowly take off his shoes. "Goodnight, Tommy." I pat his head, lazily.

I walk back to my room and finally rest. My thoughts seize and my mind is silent, calm. The calm is disrupted when I'm awoken rudely by Tommy jumping on top of me and screaming in my ear.

"Tommy!" I groan shoving my head into a pillow trying to drown out the sound of his voice. "Iris, I'm hungry~" He drags out. With a huff I sit up, "There's eggs in the press," Tommy scrunches his face up, "I don't know how to cook."

I laugh, "Me neither," And on cue my stomach grumbles. "Come on, there's a cafe just down the road." Tommy smiles, "Get up then." He says snapping his fingers.

I roll my eyes and then jump out of bed. I'm still dressed in yesterdays clothes and I couldn't be bothered to change.

"Come on then, Tommy." He smiles brightly at the mention of his name. He bounces behind me while I lead the way to the cafe.

"We're here," I say, stopping my steps abruptly. Tommy steps on the heel of my foot. "Hey!" I say, Tommy quickly stepping off my heel.

"Sorry," He mumbles, humor hidden in his tone. We walk into the cafe together, the familiar sound of a bell chimes over our heads as we walk through the door.

I inhale the scent of pastries and various types of tea. "What're you doing?" Tommy laughs. I turn to him, a smile on his face. "I'm smelling all the smells."

I say it like its the most obvious thing in the world. Tommy takes a whiff and I laugh "What're you doing?" I ask, mockingly. Tommy simply huffs, sends me a glare and walks to the front desk to order.

Once he's done he turns to me "What do you want, woman?" I skim over the menu on the wall. "Um, just a coffee." Tommy grimaces and turns back to the man taking his order.

"A coffee and a bowl of soup, for the lady." Tommy turns to me, wiggling his eyebrows. The man nods.

We sit by the window and watch the sunrise. A woman brings our food to us. She places the soup Tommy ordered for me and the sandwich Tommy ordered for himself.

The morning sun shines brightly on Tommy's face as he all but inhales his food. I finish my soup and grab a napkin to clean my face.

Tommy's red and white T-shirt is covered in stains by the time he's done. Reminiscence of bread crumbs and sauce covers his face.

"This is nice," And it is. I wish on all my lucky stars that everyday could be as calm and joyful as this one is. Tommy smiles, the sweetest most pure smile I have ever seen.

I want to see that smile for the rest of my life. I would do anything to see that smile even just one more time. "It is nice, I guess.

I mean not quite the 5 star restaurant I'm used too. But its alright." We stare into each others eyes, boring into one another's soul.

A soul with murky waters and the other crystal clear. My eyes begin to water from not blinking but an unspoken war has been awakened between us.

Tommy blinks, he groans. "You cheated." I begin laughing. "Haha loser," A childlike innocence and play comes out whenever he is around. He helps me make up for lost time.
