Secret.
"Come over to my apartment!" Tommy exclaims through the phone. I grimace, "No your apartment sucks, come to mine." Tommy begins cursing me out. I take a look around my apartment to check if its clean. My eyes widen when they land on the calendar. Shit. "Actually, Tommy, I've got a doctors appointment." Tommy whines. "What, no. Just rebook it." I roll my eyes. "Tommy," I say sternly.
"Iris," He says mockingly. "I'm going now~" I sing into the mic. "Wait-" I cut him off and snort. I get myself ready and head to the Doctors. I was just getting bloods done. In and out. Maybe I could see Tommy afterwards. I arrive at the doctors and park my car. I walk into the doctors and brought to a room to get my bloods taken. I wasn't quite fond of needles so I just looked the other way.
The blood was drawn and I was sent home. I did not go home, I went straight to Tommy. Into his arms. "What are you doing here?" He asks. A massive smile adorns his lips. He's happy to see me. "I missed you," I mumble into his shoulder blade. After about five minutes of us just standing in his door frame wrapped around one another Tommy steps back. "Come in," He says motioning behind him.
I oblige. "I'm on a discord call with the boys. I can leave if you want or you could talk to them." He offers. "I'd like to talk to them." I smile, he returns the smile. Grabbing my hand he guides me to his setup. he pats a seat down, "Sit," He says simply. I sit. He messes with the keys a bit before turning to me. "They can hear you now and when you put on the headphones you'll be able to hear them."
I nod. "Most of them left. Its just Quackity and Wilbur left." I nod again, Tommy places head phones over my head and I hear shouting in Spanish. "Hola?" I say, slightly confused. The screaming briefly stops. "Hablas espanol?" I gulp. "Uh, Si?" Tommy leaves the room, saying he was going to get a chair. The boy in the call laughs so hard, I'm afraid he might burst an artery. "Sorry about him, Iris." A familiar voice.
Wilbur. "Hi Wilbur!" I smile and wave, before putting my hand down shamefully after realizing he couldn't see me. I hear Tommy burst into laughter from the hallway. "I saw that!" He shouts before falling into another fit of laughter. I huff and turn back to the computer. "Can you actually speak Spanish?" The male, who I'm assuming is Quackity, asks. "Oh, that's what you were asking? No, no I cannot."
The whole call bursts into laughter. Tommy sits down beside me and puts on headphones. "Did you guys figure out the mod?" Tommy asks. Silence ensues and its clear that they did not in fact figure the mod out. "Nope," Quackity says simply. I laugh. My phone rings and I excuse myself. "Hello?" I ask. "Hi, Iris right?" I move into Tommy's kitchen and lean against his counter. "Yep, that's me."
"I'm just calling about the bloods we took today." I freeze, they only ever call if somethings wrong. "We found an abnormality in your blood, that suggests Cancer." A chill runs up my spine. "... more tests... hospital..." I completely zoned her out. Its getting hot in here. I need air. I hang up the phone and throw it lazily on the counter before rushing out the door. I just barely make it outside before I hear Tommy shouting behind me.
I look back to him. He's not that far away, why cant I hear him. I put my hands over my ears. Are my hands shaking? Tommy comes closer. My fight or flight instincts kick in and I run. I run until I can no longer run. My hands no longer shaking and I can hear the buzzing streets around me. I whip my head around to look at my surroundings. I'm in front of a bar. I have money, I have my id. One drink couldn't hurt.
One drink couldn't hurt, but twelve could. I left the bar once I ran out of money. The sun was setting in the sky, the streets weren't so busy. "Hey kid," I looked around there was a man on the ground. I pointed at myself as if to ask if he meant me. The man nods, "Sit, for a sec, kid." I oblige. The man takes out a box and skins. He begins assembling a joint, once he's finished he hands it to me. "You look like you needed it," He comments.
I take it with pleasure. The man lights the joints and we sit and smoke together under the pink sky. Weed was a habit I picked up from my older sister. Whenever she was sad or frustrated she would turn straight to weed and other means of damaging her body. I could never blame my sister for all the horrible things she exposed me to. She was under too much pressure. I look up to the sky to see that it was now filled with stars.
Each star was bright and beautiful. "You like the stars?" The man beside me asks. "Yeah." I say, simply. "I'd like to think my daughter is one of those stars." My head whips around to look at the man. He stares at the stars with a look of fondness in his eyes. "Did she pass?" I ask him, quietly. He nods. "My mother is up there to." A silence washes over us and we sit there, peacefully gazing at the stars.
