Love blossoming.
"Do you want to get ice cream?"
I look to my right, at Tommy. Somehow he managed to get ice cream on his forehead. I sigh, hiding my amusement. I finished the last of my ice cream and lick my thumb before attempting to wipe the ice cream off Tommy's face.
Tommy screams and flails his arms in the air. I laugh at his stupidity, "Stay still, dumbass." I flick the side of his head to get my point across. Tommy looks at me, offended.
"What did you just call me?" He stops resisting and I wipe the ice cream from his face before he can protest. "I called you a dumbass." I say shrugging.
Tommy's eyes narrow and before I have any reaction time he brings his ice cream up to my face and wipes it across the top of my head. "Tommy!" I grab the ice cream from him whilst he cackles. I throw the ice cream at him and he simply moves out of the way.
He begins to laugh even harder at my failed attempt at revenge. I smirk and engulf him in a tight hug. Tommy hesitantly wraps his lanky around my smaller stature.
I sink into his t-shirt, before nuzzling my face into his chest. Successfully covering his favorite t-shirt in ice cream. Tommy notices what I'm doing and begins to push me off of him. "What the hell?!" He screams, his voice cracking.
He rolls his eyes, sighing. "Do you want another ice cream?" He asks getting up to buy more ice cream. I grab his arm and yank him out of the ice cream parlor.
"No more ice cream." I mumble. Tommy sighs again and allows me to pull him around. I look back to him and then lower my gaze to my myself and do a once over.
"Maybe we should shower and change." I suggest, giggling. He looks down at himself, "Yeah, right." He mumbles with a small laugh.
My face grows a slight tinge of red once I realize I'm yet to let go of his arm. I loosen my grip before letting his arm drop completely, I mutter out a quick sorry.
I watch as his smile twitches into a slight frown. His smile comes back almost instantly, "Its alright, all the ladies want to hold my hand." He smirks and does a funny walk, before breaking his composure and laughing. "Mhm, sure."
He looks back to me, his facial expression contorting into one of disgust. "What's that supposed to mean." He puts a hand in the air before I can speak motioning me to stop.
His eyes close and he shakes his head a little, "You know what, never mind. I don't like listening to woman." He seems to notice the error in his sentence because his eyes widen and his head shakes aggressively.
"No, no that sounded wrong. I don't want to listen to one woman in particular."
"You know what, forget I said anything." He said pursing his lips. I laugh and he looks at me, a small fond smile evident in his features. I come to an abrupt stop causing Tommy to walk straight into me.
"Why'd you-" Tommy looks at the building in front of us, "Oh we're here." He says strutting past me into my tattered apartment block. I chase after him knowing he'll call first dibs if he gets there first.
Tommy makes it through my apartment door before me and I sigh as he gives me a knowing look. "You can go first, I guess," I say to tommy an undertone of annoyance in my voice that's cancelled out by the smile on my face.
Tommy happily struts to the shower and it feels as though he's taking his time. I finally get a shower and clean myself up. Me and Tommy decide to venture into the night once we've had some food.
By the time we're outside the sun is setting. I bask in the feeling of sunlight on my skin whilst Tommy looks very disturbed by the heat. "It's too warm," He whines.
I snigger, "It'll cool down once the sun sets," Tommy looks up to the sky and whines once more. Tommy's eyes brightens and can I tell by his expression that he's had an idea.
"Let's go to the park, its like the perfect time to go. Its too late for kids to play and to early for teenagers to lurk about."
I laugh, "Sure, lets do it." Tommy leads me to his favorite park. He runs straight to the swings and begs me to give him a push.
I comply, not without some teasing. We spent a good while in that park, jumping on trampolines and trying to fit both of us on a zipline.
We eventually decided to call it a night when other people started to show up. My face held a smile the whole time, even when we parted ways.
I knew that we'd have another inevitable adventure soon enough. Hopefully our next adventure won't involve ice-cream or anything sticky for that matter. Knowing Tommy that's not very likely.
