Iris begins to grow strong feelings for Tommy and vice versa.

It had been two months since Tommy and I's parting. He texts me whenever he can. I asked to hangout once or twice, his constant denial worries me.

Does he not want to hang out with me or is he busy like he always claims to be. I shake my head no eighteen-year-old is constantly busy.

Especially if they're not attending college. I zone back into reality, there's no benefits of pondering over a boy I've only met once in real life.

I sigh looking down at the burnt eggs in front of me. I turn the stove dial down all the way and plate my crispy eggs.

I never learnt how to cook, so trial and error was how I learned to do so. It's not the best method. In fact, I never really learned how to do most things.

I glance around my apartment. It was in shambles like it usually was. It never bothered me before; nobody ever visits me. I don't exactly have many friends.

I snapped out of my sorrows by a phone call. I don't even check the caller id before answering. I just wanted some company.

"Hello!" A smile creeps onto my face and I no longer feel the depth of my aloneness. "Hi, Tommy."

I say, simple, sweet. My voice is laced with a pleasant calmness that words can barely describe. Tommy doesn't notice this, instead he rambles about his day. I listen to every word.

I hang onto every syllable. His voice is high pitched but tainted with such joy that makes everyone around him smile.

"-Then that son of a bitch killed me." I smile, "In Minecraft?" Tommy sighs and somehow, I could hear his eyes roll, "Well duh, I wouldn't be talking to you if he killed me in real life."

I hear rustles come from my phone. "Oh, yeah! I wanted to know if you were busy today." I smile, a wide grin seemingly reaching either side of my face.

"No, I'm not busy." I say, lying through my teeth. I was busy. I had to clean my entire apartment as I had people coming over to make sure my apartment was suitable for a dog.

I was up really late one night and decided, impulsively, to adopt a dog. My apartment was too small for a dog anyways. "Great, meet me at the beach in half an hour."

Tommy hangs up shortly after and I begin getting ready.

I walk from my apartment to the beach. I enjoy the cool breeze fly through my hair. I look to the sky and wonder what the future holds for me.

I watch the clouds float happily in the sky. I can't help but think that in the next few minutes, the clouds will have moved on.

In a few hours Tommy and I will part once again. My brain is so fixated on the future that I'm forgetting where I am going, where I have been.

I snapped out of my thoughts when I spot Tommy in weird clothing, running around the beach with his hands in the air. People send him dirty looks, but he doesn't pay them any mind he just continues to scream.

He seems to have spot me, because he's running straight at me. "Iris!" he shouts. "Tommy!" I shout back, mockingly. He continues to run at me and instead of stopping when he reached me, he just kept running.

He attempted to bolt straight through me. I grabbed onto his taller figure, the air knocking out of my lungs briefly. "Tommy," I laugh, coughing from the impact.

Tommy drapes his arms lazily around my waist. "I missed you," My air waves shut, and my face grows a deep scarlet.

I suck in a harsh breath and melt into his hold, "What are you wearing?" I ask, trying to change the subject. Tommy scoffs.

"It's diamond armor." He says, like it's the most obvious thing in the world. He pulls away from my grasp to see a puzzled look on my face.

"From Minecraft..." He tilts his head, hoping something clicks in mine. "...Minecraft?" Tommy's mouth gapes open, his eyes boring into mine.

"You-" He places his head in his hands and sighs deeply. "You've never played Minecraft." My brows furrow and I cross my arms, "No..."

"Ok, we can fix this." He grabs my hand and pulls me down to sit next to him. "I have it on my phone, I can teach you how to play." Suddenly Tommy looks concentrated.

This game must mean a lot to him. It feels personal. Tommy hands me his phone. "This button moves your character forward." He presses the button to showcase its use. I nod and listen intently as he explains the other buttons.

If this game means something to him, I want to be able to talk to him about it. "So, these green things will hurt me?" I ask, Tommy nods.

"They're called creepers, because they tend to creep up on you." For the few seconds or minutes or hours that Tommy and I sat there and just spoke words and stared at a screen I felt content. I didn't ponder over what's to come I just lived in the now, in the present.

I think many people are afraid they'll never be loved. I fear that I am unlovable, I don't have any talents and I'm not all that interesting.

Right in this moment I feel loved and that is a feeling I have not felt in a long time. I smile and Tommy takes notice of it,

"What're you smiling at." I shake my head, "Nothing," Tommy rolls his eyes a stupid smile gracing his features. "Is this why you're always busy?" Tommy turns to look at me.

"Hmm?" I motion my head to the phone, "The game." Tommy purses his lips. "Yes and no." I frown slightly, "What does that mean?"

Tommy lets out a breath. "Well... I'm a youtuber and a streamer." My head tilts to the left. "I play Minecraft for a living basically."

I stare at the ground It makes sense. I feel a wave of relief flood my emotions; he wasn't avoiding me. He was actually busy.
