Heartache.

"Will, I'm worried." Will sets his coffee down on the already stained table. "About Iris?" Tommy nods, a sad look on his face. Wills gaze softens. "What happened?" Tommy places his elbows onto the table and glances around the coffee shop, wearily. "She's drinking and smoking. Will, when I went to see her, she was stoned. I don't know how to help her." The desperation and concern makes Will cringe. Will bites his bottom lip.

He'd have to ask her about it to know what the right thing to do was. "I can talk to her if you want." Will looks down to the coffee in his hand swirling its contents and gently blowing on it. Tommy nods his head like an excited puppy. "Yeah please, that would be really helpful." Will looks up to Tommy, he knows how much Tommy cares for Iris. Will knows that it wont be very easy to help her. But Will was also quite fond of Iris.

He was saddened when her heard about her problems. He fears that Iris will waste her life and hurt everyone she loves. He calls Iris and asks to meet up for lunch. Iris agrees with some convincing. Will tells Tommy to leave and that Iris is coming by to talk. Tommy leaves and thanks Will once more. Wilbur waits patiently, sipping his coffee. Eventually Iris walks through the front door, anxiously messing with a ring on her finger.

Will is taken aback by her protruding bones and pale skin. Will also takes notice of her bloodshot eyes and dilated pupils. Will puts on a fake smile when she sits down. Iris looks down at Wills coffee, "Am I late? How long have you been waiting?" Will shakes his head, "You're not late," Iris picks up a menu in front of her and scans the various items. She calls over a waitress once she's decided what she wanted. After a few moments of awkward silence her tea is brought to her.

She takes a gulp of the hot liquid letting it run down her throat and soothe her nerves. "Tommy's worried about you." Iris's eyes shoot up to look at Will. "And frankly after seeing you, I am too." Her eyes shoot wide with panic. "I know you're doing drugs." His gaze softens and he tilts his head, laying his hands on the table. "Iris, you need help. We can help you, you have so many people who care for you." her eyes gloss over, her gaze boring into the table.

"No, no, no," She whispers repeatedly. "If you don't get help you'll hurt everyone around you." Wilbur pulls her hands from her face and holds them tight. "You can go to rehab or you can stay with me or Tommy. We can take care of you." Will squeezes her hands, "You'll be alright," His words almost convince her that it will be alright. But words cant fix this. Its beyond anyone's control. This problem cannot be fixed. Iris shakes her head, "It wont be alright."

Her voice cracks with each syllable. Iris takes her trembling hands from Wilbur's grasp and shoots out of her seat, running out of the coffee shop. Will, taken aback follows after her "Iris! Come back!" He screams desperately at her distant figure. Finally he gives up. "Shit," He curses, his hands on his head. Iris runs off to the nearest bus stop, knowing she couldn't stay here any longer. She cant hurt him, he cant know. She doesn't want him to watch her fade into nothing.

Will calls Tommy to inform him of Iris's freak out. The phone rings and with each ring Wilbur's stomach does a flip. "Please pick up." Will chants. "Hello?" he lets a sigh escape his lips. "Thank god." Will mutters, the desperation now gone from his tone instead replaced with relief. "Tommy, she ran away." Will bites on his finger nails. "huh?" Tommy's confused. "Who ran away?" Will takes in a large breath.

"Iris. I- I tried confronting her, offering help. She just got up and- and ran." Wilbur messes up his words and he said them so quickly they were hardly illigeable. But Tommy heard every bit. His heart skipped so many beats he thought he might die. Something was seriously wrong.
