Serena POV
I woke like every other morning, three thousand feet under water, it's where I felt most at home. After all, when you're the student of a water dragon you learn to love the water. I stretched my stiff arms and looked around.
'Nazumi....' I shot the message out into the sea with echolocation. 'Nazumi where are you?' I didn't think much about it, she often went to the surface before I ever woke up, liking to take a morning fly around. I was about to snuggle back in, not wanting to truly get up yet.
'Serena get your ass up here!' I shot out of my coral bed and looked up at the ice burg above my head, of course Katherine had to come by now of all times. I was just getting back to sleep.
'Come on what the hell do you want now? You're already by a whole bunch of water, what more could you need?' echolocation didn't really have emotions, but I tried my best to let her know how pissed I was at this moment.
'This is serious! Get up here!' She complained.
'I hope you know that I was sleep comfortably.'
'You can douse me later!' She must have been in a lot of distress to not apologize for waking me up. She always felt sorry about it, it was kinda in her nature to feel bad about waking me up.
'Can I have five minutes?' I Pleaded.
'NO! What part of DIRE do you not understand?!'
I grunted into the water as I shot up and out into the world of oxygen and non-aquatic life. I shivered as I remembered that we had come farther away from land and we no longer had the warm currents around. I was still sky high when Katherine froze my water gazer, cutting of my water and forcing me down to her ice burg, if either of us considered this ice burg a vehicle we would both be puking our guts out....stupid motion sickness.
"Okay Katherine, this better be fucking important to bring me into this cold over world!" I glared at her. Land life wasn't my style, nor was pure oxygen. I also hated the cold feeling the wind gave me when ever I came out of the water. I basically hated everything that wasn't aquatic or had to do with the sea.
"She is gone!" Katherine started sobbing. "I-I woke up with morning and she was gone. I have looked in all her usual places and she is no where to be found!" She continued crying, I had to fight not to laugh as her tears instantly turned to little ice crystals.
But the seriousness of the situation hit me quickly. She didn't have to explain anymore for me to know that she was talking about her dragon. Before she could say another word I jumped back into the water and shot up as high as I could. Nazumi never went higher than the clouds lowest altitude when I was sleeping, of we weren't training. I turned around in a full circle, hoping that maybe she was playing a joke on me, circling me as I circled around and around. But there was nothing, her usual berry salt smell wasn't around ad there wasn't even a trail that I could follow. How could she do this? Just leave me as if I was nothing? I was so close to finishing my training with her, today was to be our last lesson.
The water jet left my feet and I allowed myself to fall from the sky, not caring if I hit the ice or the water, because either was my element wouldn't dare hurt me. I pointed my head down and saw a slide for underneath me, Katherine's doing, I slid down the ice slid and stopped at Katherine's feet. The fool was still crying, and there was still a collection of ice crystals forming by her feet. I turned away from her, not wanting her to see my own salty sea tears forming in my tear sockets. This wasn't normal and I knew something was wrong. Giant dragons don't just disappear like that. I composed myself and stood up and faced her.
