how not to be a Viking

the trial

To everyone here, I hope you all enjoy this first chapter of mine and let me know what you guys think of this.

The trial

On the island of Berk, there was a traitor who was locked away in a cell on the cold stone floor he lays.

They had him locked away for a month.

It was a young boy at the age of 15, he had brown hair, green eyes, freckles on his face and was skinny as all he had on was a green tunic, Brown leggings, his hands were tied together as he was covered with bruises and was beating up badly.

he had a big red mark on the side of his cheek that he got from a big hard slap.

He had tear lines on his face and he was shivering from his fear and from the cold, as he couldn't believe this has happened to him, this young lad was none other than hiccup the runt of the litter to his whole entire tribe.

Hiccup soon heard the gate to his prison cell burst open and it was two Viking guards.

They grab him up by the shoulders and took him outside, it was ice cold with snow coming down, and the wind was freezing blowing across him.

Hiccup was shivering from the cold as he did not have his brown fur vest or boots on as he was forced to walk in the snow.

Hiccup looked up and all he could see was the moon the only light he could see as everything else was pitch Black there were no Stars out for this cold winter night.

Hiccup was being taken, crossing the bridge that led him to the killer ring, the gate opened and hiccup was tossed into the center of the dragon-killing ring Stone floor.

Hiccup was on his knees and looked around and saw his tribe as it was thanks to the light that was reflecting off the bars of the cage-like arena.

their faces had looks of betrayal and discussion with anger and rage looking down at the poor runt.

This made hiccup definitely nervous as he knew this wasn't good for him, he was the center of attention in this mess.

Hiccup didn't even notice the chief who sat on his large throne as he look down at hiccup in the dark and then suddenly the vikings lit big flames appeared on either side of the chief.

Hiccup noticed the big bright light and saw his father looking down on him with shame, disappointment, and with rage altogether and now all the vikings who had that look like hiccup's own father were the worst and most terrifying site ever seen in hiccup's eyes.

stoick the vast stood up and spoke in a calm but voice filled with hatred, "Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III stand up now!"

Hiccup struggles to get up as both of his hands were tied up but he was able to stand on his feet after a few tries.

Now hiccup was looking at stoick as he was scared of what comes next for what his father would do to him now.

"Hiccup, You have done something most despicable, and something that no viking has ever done before, you threw in your lot away with our enemies! You went behind our backs and kept secrets that are the most treasonous to the tribe and worse you befriended a night fury dragon! The unholy offspring of lightning and death! Do you deny these claims?" stoick asks as hiccup looks down in shame.

"N-n...." Hiccup was cut off by stoick as he yelled.

"LOOK AT US BOY! DO YOU OR NOT DENY THESE CLAIMS!" stoick yelled with anger in his veins.

Hiccup looked up and said, "NO!... I... I don't deny it all but except for one I never did join them, I was only trying to find a way to make peace and end the war that has lasted for centuries!"

Everyone started yelling at him.

"HICCUP! YOU WORTHLESS TRAITOR!"

"DRAGON LOVER!"

"HOW DARE YOU?!"

"WE WILL NEVER MAKE PEACE WITH THEM!"

"THEY KILLED HUNDREDS OF US!"

"YOU FILTHY RUNT!"

"THEY MURDER OUR OWN!"

"BLASPHEMER!"

"TRAITOR!"

they all slam their hands on the metal bars and kept screaming traitor to him.

some of the Vikings even went as far as throwing garbage At him, none of them wanted peace with dragons.

"As well I didn't keep secrets when I was at dragon training I was just testing out my theories and learning their secrets that I learned from the night fury and I did tell you that I shut him down on that night BUT NONE OF YOU BELIEVE ME!" hiccup try to get them to listen but no one wanted to hear anything from a traitor.

"ENOUGH!" stoick yelled as he slammed his hammer on a bar and then everyone went silent, "YOU HAVE THROWN YOUR A LOT WITH THEM YOUNG ONE!"

Hiccup couldn't believe this was actually happening, there were times he screw up and messed things up but it was never this horrible before.

"I have spoken of your deeds with the council and we have decided your punishment for befriending a night fury," stoick said with disgust in his voice.

"Then what shall it be?" Hiccup asks as he shivers and fears for the worst.

"Spitelout and I have thought that you should be sent to be blood eagle," stoick said as Hiccup lost whatever color that was on his face, did his father want to kill him, Did his father really feel that betrayed by his own son?

"However we decided a different punishment that is also worth redemption for your crimes," stoick said as hiccup look back up.

"What kind of punishment then?" Hiccup asked with tears in his eyes because he didn't want to die, hiccup knew viking don't cry but he was definitely not ready to die.

"If you want redemption and forgiveness from us you must do one thing to prove your loyalty, kill THE NIGHT FURY!" stoick yells to make it perfectly clear he wants his own son to kill the dragon.

Hiccup's mouth dropped open as he could not believe what he was hearing, they wanted him to kill a night fury his own and only friend he had that truly accepted him for he is.

"Wh...wha... WHAT!? BUT WHY!?" hiccup yelled out of disbelief his father really wanted to make him kill toothless?

stoick slam his hammer on the bar again and yelled, "HICCUP! YOU HAD STARTED THIS WHEN YOU SHOT IT DOWN AND YOU WILL FINISH WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE BY KILLING IT!"

"But... But Dad I..." Hiccup was cut off by stoick.

"You will only call me stoick nothing more nothing less until then you are no Viking to this tribe and you are no son of mine!" stoick said as everyone agreed and some went back throwing things at him and one of them was a rock that hit the side of his head causing him to fall back on the ground.

stoick didn't even bother to tell the Vikings to stop this time as he order the guards to grab hiccup and take him back to his cell.

As hiccup was being taken out of the ring, the Vikings kept throwing things at him, and to make it worse, when he was out of the killer ring, he saw the girl he used to have a crush on Astrid and it was because of her that all of this happened.

'How could she do this to me?' hiccup thought as he put his head back down as well was forced to walk back to his cell.
