~Madilyn's pov~✿in Zack's body✿

Knock knock!

"Zack get the door " Cleo says (probably wondering who the hell is she?, she's Zack's mother). After our little bonding time in the park it eventually got late and we had to go home and that's how I ended up having to answer the door.

A couple is standing patiently on the porch on the other side of the open door.

"Son it's good to see you" the man says,' this might be common sense but I think he's Zack's father'.

"Uh... yeah you too" I say awkwardly while I compare his features to Zack's.

"You remember Maranda, don't you?" he says nudging the woman beside him which I haven't noticed until now , she has a black dress on which is a little to tight and what looks like a bucket full of makeup on her face, ' I ain't judging, or am I ?'.

"Uh-" I begin but get cut off by Cleo.

"Oh Zack, please excuse him , welcome in " she says looking at me pointedly. 'That was a close call, what was I supposed to say... yeah I never seen this woman in my life before?'.

They walk in following Cleo to what I assume is the dinning room, as I'm about to close the door a foot stops it.

"Hey, aren't you forgetting something?... We're stepbrothers so I'm invited too" Raymond says glaring at me.

"Nah, not forgetting anything...I just don't care" I say slamming the door in his face. ' I don't know where I got this confidence from...but I like it'.

"Where is Raymond?" Cleo asks walking into the room oblivious to what just happened.

Knock knock

Cleo answers the door this time.
"Oh I was just talking about you" she says greeting Raymond with a warm smile, he plasters on a fake smile while looking my way.

°°°°°°°
" So how's school?" Zack's dad asks trying to keep the conversation going , I'd be lying if I said this wasn't the most awkward dinner I've been too.We were all gathered around the table having supper.

"fine" Zoe says disinterested while eating her food, they all look at me next, 'What do you expect me to say? it's fricking amazing?... school is tiring and that's just life', but obviously I didn't say that.

"It's good" I say, 'if you over look the fact that Zack's grades suck, but that's what I'm helping him for I guess'.

"Oh my goodness what happened to your lip" Cleo says looking at Raymond seeming to only notice his bruised lip now. ' Oh shit is he going to snitch on me?'.

" Why don't you ask Zack" Raymond says looking at me smugly while everyone averts their eyes to me .

"Uh...he fell and bruised his lip, atleast he didn't die right? " I say with a awkward chuckle trying to add humour while Raymond's mouth drops.

" Your so clumsy, you should be more like Zack" Maranda says  looking at her son in disappointment , Raymond just glares at me with a promise that I'll pay for this, 'Am I afraid?...yes, yes I am...but this chicken Alfredo infront of me is calling my name so I will worry about that later'.

small talk was made here and there and if it wasn't for Raymond glaring at me every five minutes I would say this dinner was atleast decent.

I've learnt that Zack's dad's name is Vincent...' let's just say I have my fair share of judgement on the name'. I also learnt that he   doesn't really give a shit about this family, ' I know that's harsh but there's not other way to say it '.

"So me and Maranda have some news" Zack's dad Vincent says after we all finished eating while holding Maranda's hand.

"Me and Maranda are having another baby" he says looking at Cleo.

"U..uh..oh...I'm happy for you guys" she says shocked trying to keep her tears at bay, it's clear she's not over him.

"What?!.... Another baby?...you couldn't even raise the kids you have and you telling me your having another one!" Raymond outbursts looking at Vincent.

"Sit down Raymond and stop causing a commotion...I'm sorry for his behaviour...he doesn't mean that" his mother warns him and looks apologetically at all of us.

"Yes I do... aren't you to old to be making more kids anyway" Raymond sneers at Vincent.

"Raymond James Rainford!" Maranda warns yet again while everyone else just watches the drama unfold to shocked to intervene.

"Don't call me that!, My surname is not Rainford" Raymond says not backing down.

"Well you should be happy it is, Vincent has been nothing but kind to us , his looked after us and provided for us and has really tried to be a good father to you, how dare you disrespect him like this" Maranda says fuming.

"Yeah and he couldn't even do it for his own family...and his not my father and will be never be" Raymond says receiving a slap to the face by none other than his mother.

"I'm so disappointed in you, you know how your real father was and your turning out just like him, can't you be more like Zack" she says disappointed laced in her voice , what she said seems to have set something in Raymond because soon enough his eyes flash with hurt than absolute rage as he storms out the door slamming it, at this point everyone is in tears from thier own pain and pity tonight's argument has brought except for me, ' because honestly what the fuck just happened and how am I going to explain this to the real Zack and how will he take the news'.

"I'm sorry for the scene we caused, thank you for dinner it was lovely. We will be leaving now" Maranda and Vincent bid us goodbye and Leave.

I always thought Zack's family was perfect when I was me...but it doesn't look like it.

I guess I judged the book by its cover instead of reading through its pages...that book being Zack, I might have judged Raymond to quickly too he looks like he's going through his own problems.

well it was my first time meeting Zack's dad tonight...

...all I can say is that tonight was like nothing I expected it to turn out.
