The Manhattan newsies were all gathered around the statue when the four arrived back from Brooklyn. The younger ones were doing their own thing as the others watched them. They all noticed Jack walk in, "How you doing, Jack?"
"So uh, where's Spot, huh?" Race asked.
"Oh he was concerned about us being serious. You imagine that?"
"Well Jack, maybe we ought to ease off a little." Race replies.
"Without Spot and the others, there ain't enough of us, Jack." Blink points out.
"Maybe we're moving too soon. Maybe we ain't ready, you know?" Mush adds.
"I definitely think we should forget about it for a little while."
"Oh, do ya?"
"Yeah"
"Yeah, I mean, we're not Brooklyn."
"Hey, who we kidding here? Spot was right. Is it just a game to you guys?"
The newsies all let out signs of protest, "Not a game."
"Heya Crutchy." Jack sighs.
"Heya Jack."
Both David and Lila walk around the statue.
