INTRUDER! INTRUDER!
Bruce looked at Steve, Steve looked at Tony, and Tony looked back at Bruce.
"Stay here." They all said to me. Not like I could move, not much anyways. Tony ran to where he kept his suit, and Steve always had his on underneath. Bruce just went into his little hacking cave to try and disable the alarm.
I had never felt so helpless in my life. I wanted to do something anything to help; but what? I couldn't do a thing. Clint ran into my room, his bow at his side, arrow loaded. "Well, come on kid!" He said, expecting me to get up. I opened my mouth to speak but couldn't. "You okay kid, talk to me!" He looked at me, concern in his eyes.
Bruce came up behind him. "He can't talk, infection. Fury wants us all downstairs now, let's go!" Clint & Bruce ran away, Clint giving me a final look of concern.
"We'll be right back, kid. Just hang in there."
A few minutes after, I saw a helicopter outside of my window. Somebody jumped from it, crashing through the window, holding a rifle, the end dripping with poison. The figure pulled down their ski mask and took of their hood to reveal the face and hair of Will Solace. Nicos ex- boyfriend. "Jackson." He growled, rage in his eyes. "The fact that you're still alive, and Nicos dead makes me sick. Luckily, that won't be a problem for long." He raised up his gun, hands shaking. The alarms blared louder.
INTRUDER HAS ENETERED! INTRUDER HAS ENETERED!
A tear streamed down Wills face. "Looks like we don't have long; any last words?" His voice was shaking almost as much as his hands as he put his finger on the trigger.
Tony, Bruce, Clint, Nat, Steve, and Thor all appeared behind me and screamed "Percy!" as Will pulled the trigger.
It was one of those moments in life when everything happened in slow motion. Tony ran to Will, Clint and Natasha ran to my side. I could see the bullet spiraling towards me, with each rotation it gets closer and closer to me. Thor screamed my name once more, and the bullet hit me square in the chest. Everything went back to normal speed- and pain was immediately endured. Tony tackled Will, but all too late. He punched him so hard with his iron fist that he was quickly knocked out.
"Percy, Percy, hey," Natasha said softly, pushing my hair out of my face. Bruce ran to get medical supplies, but I knew that it was hopeless. Blood was gushing out of my chest, and the pain was too much for me to handle. If the infection wasn't already going to kill me, this definitely was. Bruce ran over and pressed gauze with something over the wound, and it stung badly.
"Stay with us, Jackson." Tony whispered. All of my friends, the last people I had left gathered around me. This is such a lame way to die. I thought to myself as all of the Avengers crowded around my bed, mumbling encouraging words.
"Percy, you're going to be okay. You have to be okay." Natasha said, starting to cry. I'd never thought she ever cry, but yet here we were. She linked her hand in mine, and looked deep into my eyes, hers flooding with tears. "You're going to be okay." I looked around, silent tears streaming downs everyone's face, mine being no exception. I mouthed two words. It's okay.
I started to see Annabeth's form; her hand reached out to me. "I know it's hard, but at least you're with me now, Seaweed Brain."
Then I blinked.
And my eyes never opened again.
THIRD PERSON POV:
Percy's eyes never opened again after that day.
Tony punched a wall so hard; a hole was put into it with his iron fist stained from Will Solaces blood. His breathing was heavy, and he felt like he had let the poor kid down. Percy never even got to see the suit that Tony was designing for him.
Natasha just broke down. She kept on repeating his name, Percy, over and over again in hopes that he would wake up. Her hand was still intact with his. She was vaguely aware of the fact that Thor had flashed out of the room, probably to inform his father and the rest of Asgard that the world's mightiest demigod had died. She thought that Bruce would have to take care of her next, for she could barely feel Clints hand patting her back, desperately trying to console his best friend.
Clint had a million thoughts running through his head, and he was blindly trying to calm Natahsa down by holding her back; letting her know that he was there. And that he wasn't going anywhere.
Bruce looked defeated. His hands let up from the lifeless form of his patient, his coworker, his friend- no. His family. He felt as if it was all his fault. He should have stayed behind, then he could have prevented this. It was taking all of his strength to not turn into... the other guy, but it was just so, so, hard.
Steve wanted to run, he wanted to run far away from the mess. He never even got to say goodbye. Instead, he stood. Silent tears streaming furiously down his face. He wanted to console his team badly, but knew that if he opened his mouth, he would break down.
Everybody stood there, in their own emotions. Their own way of dealing with the grief.
Everybody, dealing with the loss of Percy Jackson.
