The next morning came quickly. We weren't anywhere close to ready. Dad leaned against a tree. He didn't look one bit amused. The other wolves, Astrid, Fishlegs, Midnight and Vitani were with him. I was with my Mother, Hayden, and the other Vampire's. Vitani then stepped forwards. "We need to be ready for the fight!" She said.
"There isn't going to be a fight!" Mom said panicked.
"Yeah, there will!" I hear Dad say while pulling a tree branch off the tree, pulling the bark off of it.
"Snotlouts pack is strong, yes!" Vitani said. "But not as strong as one of our individual's."
"Who's that?" I ask.
She pointed to my Father, who was no longer paying attention. "He's one of the strongest Wolves around," Fishlegs said. "And with this virus, his desire to kill is fantastic."
"But he doesn't kill." Hayden pointed out.
Vitani looked at him. "We need to learn each other ways. We can be a team. We just need to get along!" She said glancing to my dad then to Hayden.
"So what do we do?" Midnight asked.
"Every wolf has his or her special trait. And very few of them have their own abilities." Vitani said pointing to my dad, then to me. "But each Wolf has learned a special move to defend themselves. "Take Hiccup for example." She said, gesturing to him, though he wasn't paying attention. "He can tell the future and read minds. Plus he can rarely change people thoughts." She said.
"So?" Midnight asked.
"That's his advantage." Knowing my dad, he probably wasn't listening, therefore he wasn't reading anyone's minds. So he probably has no idea what's going on. "Watch!" Vitani said as she ran towards my dad full speed, ready to attack. Dad, still not paying attention effortlessly stepped out of the way, making Vitani crash into a bush. "See!" She spits out the leaf in her mouth. "That's what he does."
My dad looked up. "No, I heard you running. You are not a silent runner," He said.
She crawled out of the bush, walking back to the group. "Snotlout will have New Wolves. They are stronger than all of us Combined." She said. She looked at my Dad and Midnight. "Hiccup and Midnight have experience with newborns. I'll teach you all how to defeat them."
"What's the difference between Newborn Wolves and ones that have been around for decades?" Jason asked.
"They're a great deal stronger than us because their own human blood lingers in their tissues," Dad added. "Our kind is never more physically powerful... Then in our first several months of this life."
"That's why they are created." Midnight took over. "A newborn army doesn't need thousands like a human army. No human army could stand against them."
"The two most important things to remember are, first..." Vitani cut my dad off. "Never let them get a hold of you, they'll crush you instantly," Vitani said.
"The second..." She then turned to my Father, then back to the Vampires.
"Never go for the obvious kill. They'll be expecting that." Dad said to all of us. "... And you will lose."
"Midnight?" She called walking away. The two of them stood across from each other. "Don't hold back." She said to him.
He looked at her, then gave her a look. "Not in my nature."
Vitani stepped out of the way, as Dad did earlier, causing Midnight to collide with my dad. My Father pushed him, forcing him back to Vitani, who pinned him to the ground. "Never lose focus," Vitani said to Midnight. "Hiccup!" She then called. "You and Astrid." I saw Astrid shake her head as my dad sighed.
The two of them effortlessly walked to the middle, just staring at each other. Astrid then at full speed towards my dad as he ran for her. She jumped, hoping to hit him, but he ducked sliding under her, lifting a bunch of dust. She landed, then ran toward him, who threw her down, in seconds. "One more thing..." Vitani turned, causing my dad to look away. Astrid then tackled him, pinning him to the ground. "Never turn your back on your enemy," Vitani said silently.
Dad looked up for a moment, then just laid there for a moment. "I think you broke him." Midnight called.
Astrid looked down, as my Father flipped backward, pinning her to a tree. "Never turn your back, on your enemy." He repeated to her before backing up. She stared at him for a second, as Vitani herself, jumped out of the trees in Wolf form, jumping on my dad forcing him to shift. She pinned him to the ground, only to be thrown off by my dad. I saw him snarl, only to discover that he's hurt again.
He was fine. Maybe he overdid it and opened something. Fishlegs and Astrid started their combats and Midnight and Vitani continued theirs. The Vampires watched for a bit, then started themselves. Dad, who stayed in wolf form, slowly walked to Mom who stood there silently, resting her hand on his head. "Some of you, are gonna get hurt." She said to him. "Some of you could get killed, because of me. And Karli." She said.
"It's not because of you guys," Dad said looking up. "I'm the one he wants. I'm the one he wants Dead."
"It's gonna be a hundred times worse than this, right?" Mom asked.
My Father nodded slowly, looking up. "Unfortunately, yes."
After a bit, Vitani looked over to him, seeing him sitting there. She then stopped, stopping the other. "We're done for the day."
