Night came. Everyone was by the fire again. All Except my dad. Who was in Wolf Form, sitting near the cliff, staring out into the distance. He was troubled. I got up, in Wolf form, walking to him. "You okay?" I Ask.

I saw him twitch. "Yeah. I'm fine."

"Wanna talk?" I ask.

"About what?"

"Whatever's bothering you?"

He looked at me. "To ask if you wanna talk?" He echoed. "Isn't that my job? As your father?"

I laugh a little. "Yeah, I guess it is."

"All I'm trying to do is protect you and Your mother." He said then sighed. He looked up again. "I don't know what to do anymore." he sighed.

"With that?"

"This, Snotlout wants War and wants me dead. But I was destined to kill him." He told me.

"What?"

"My mother once told me, it was my Destiny to become successful, to kill Snotlout and take my place back, as Alpha." He said. "But now look at me. I'm an outcast who's been running for 127 years." He said. "Teaming up with Vampires." He said.

"I've really messed up..." He sighed.

"Messed up what?"

"The wolf code. I'm supposed to be dead. I'm an Outcast, with a Human mate and a Half immortal daughter." He said. I look at him. "I'm not saying that's a bad thing, it's just. Now I'm really supposed to be dead. I've broken so much of the Wolf Code." He sighed.

"Are you afraid?" I ask.

"-- No."

I look at him. I know he's lying. "Dad, what are you afraid of?" I ask.

"Losing you and your Mother, you two are my entire world." He said.

I think for a moment. "You're afraid of dying," I say.

"I'm already dead."

"The second time. You're afraid of dying the second time."

"Yeah. I've always feared that." He sighed. "Every wolf fears that." He said.

"I don't."

"You're Half Dire, Karl's." He said. "If you were to die now, you'd come back full Werewolf, as I did."

"You were half Werewolf?"

"I was born half immortal like you were." He said. "I wasn't created or turned by another wolf."

"Oh."

"You heard the whole story from the others." He said.

"Yeah."

"Snotlout Challenged me, cheated, beat me, then Banished me, for revenge."

"All because Snotlout didn't want to be a Werewolf." he sighed.

"He was dying, so I turned him to keep him alive." She told me.

"Why?"

"Because if I let him die, people would've thought I killed him." He said. "As Astrid said; Snotlout didn't want that. So to get back at me, he killed my Father, and poisoned my mother."

"He did all that because you tried to save his life?" I ask. "What a horrible thing to do."

"He didn't want to be a killer like me. So, when I turned him, all he wanted was to see me dead." My dad said. "Then the day came, when Snotlout Challenged, he was a fool and used my weakness to fear against me."

"You're scared of losing someone else you loved in the future," I say.

"That's why I'm extremely overprotective of your mother. I can't bear to see you go, it's the same as you. I can't lose you either, you're everything to  me,"

"You won't." I say.

"Snotlout promised me an eternity of misery until I died, and banished me." He said. "And I have a feeling death will come soon." He said.

As much as he doesn't want to lose mom and me, I can't lose him. He's been there for me when I needed someone the most. But what if this fight does kill him?
