Coming Around

My Father was released this Morning... As far as anything, he's too weak to do anything. Mom has been keeping an eye on him... That is when he's not hunting. He's been unable to Hunt, so I've been doing it myself.  We figured out if he feeds before the 8 hours are up, he won't go for other Werewolves. Which is good! Hayden thinks he'll go after me, but I know he won't.

I have his scent, he knows by the scent that I'm his daughter. And plus, I'm half Human. Hayden and I walk to the back, to see my mother out there. Dad was asleep on the grass, curled up in a ball. Since they released him, he's been in Wolf Form. He's still way too weak to shift.

He's been refusing everything she's given. He doesn't want to seem weak and helpless. "How's he doing?" I ask.

"He's coming around," Mom said to me. "He's still weak though, that wound in his neck won't heal until he gets stronger." She said.

I saw his ear Twitch. "I'm fine." He snarled quietly.

"Yeah, sure you are!" Mom said to him.

His ear twitched again. "You don't have to do this Elsa, I'll be fine."

"Yeah, you said that when you were close to death.." She said to him.

"Shh." I saw him rest his head down, with an annoyed look. You can tell by the way he's acting, he's never been cared for like this. He's been in his own his entire existence. Hayden then tapped my shoulder, getting my attention. "Oh, yeah. We're going hunting!" I say.

"Okay," my mother said. "Bring your Father something!" She added.

"No, don't!" He snarled.

"The 8 hours is almost up, you haven't eaten." She told me.

He growled again, then put his head back down. "Fine..."

I walked towards the woods, with Hayden.  Once we got a good distance away from my house, Hayden cleared his throat. "I'm sorry about your Dad." He said suddenly.

I turn to him. "What--"

"I said I'm sorry about your dad."

"Thanks. But why? You hate him."

"Yeah, I hate him."

I give him a look. "-- Then why are you sorry?"

"I may hate him -- and he may hate me-- but he's your Father, and you care for him a lot!" He said. I stay silent. "And I can accept that he hates me, and hates that I'm around you." He started again. "But I can stop my Hatred for him, for you." He said. "Even though he'll always hate me."

I look at him. "Really?"

He nodded. "Really."

"Wow, I have never heard that in my life." He just looked at me. "My dad doesn't forgive people easily."

"Yeah, I know. I've met him." He said. "It was actually because of his cousin." He added.

"Snotlout?"

"Yeah, Snotlout ruined His life, then your father lost his trust for everything-- and everyone."

"I never knew that..."

"He never shared that."

I look away.

"To this day, Snotlout still taunts him... All Snotlout wants is your father dead."

"Oh..." I then realize why I was out here. I spot a fat squirrel in the distance. Shifting, I chase after it, pouncing on it and killing it. Hayden caught up to me.

"You are pretty quick."

"I get it from my dad."

"Ah, I see. Did he teach you how to hunt too?"

"Yeah."

"I knew those moves look familiar." I pick up the Fresh-Kill then started padding away. "C' mon, I gotta bring this to my dad."

"Okay." He started then followed me. I sigh as I walk. My mind goes back to the other night. They can't wipe the entire Werewolf Species, it's impossible. I just hope it doesn't kill my dad.
