I definitely have a crush on Clay. Now I just have to admit to LouLou so she can help me get over it. I meet up with LouLou, like always, and we head towards the lunchroom. I pull her into an empty hallway and cover her mouth with my hand. "Okay. I need to tell you something. No talking until I'm done, okay?" She nods and I take my hand off of her mouth. "I like Clay. I know he's straight and I know I need to get over him! So... I need your help." I say quickly. She nods slowly. "I think you should stop talking to him. I know you like him and everything but it's the best way to get over someone?" She offers. No. I can't do that. He's way too good of a friend to me. "Nope. No way. He's too good of a person. He stands up for me!" "Hun, that's like, the bare minimum." I sigh.

We walk into the lunchroom and I spot Clay and Tobi. I drag LouLou to their table and we sit down. "Hey." I smile. "Hello." Clay smiles back. Tobi eyes us suspiciously then looks at LouLou. They're both making the same face, one that says - this is definitely fruity. I look at LouLou with a raised eyebrow. She just laughs. "So who's this?" Tobi asks, motioning towards LouLou. "This is Lou, my best friend." I grin. "Nice to meet you! I'm Tobi!" Tobi holds out his hand. LouLou shakes it, while smiling. "Nice to meet you, too!"

We spend the rest of lunch eating, talking, and laughing. All in all I had fun, and I know LouLou did too. RM picks me up and we drive home in silence, until I decide to speak. "I have a crush on this guy." RM looks over at me. "Oh?" "Yeah... But he's straight." They look over at me for a second, their eyebrows furrowed. "How do you know that?" They ask. "Because- it's- he just- he's just straight. I know it." RM rolls her eyes. "It's rude to assume someone's sexuality based on appearance. I think I know who it is. It's Clay, isn't it?" I nod, looking down at my hands. "I think you should tell him." RM smiles softly.

"What?! No way!" I huff, crossing my arms. Tell him? And risk ruining our amazing friendship? Yeah right. "You'll get nowhere if you don't say anything! Just be honest with him." RM offers. We get out of the car and head inside. Mom's in the kitchen doing dishes when we enter. "Hey kids! We're having chicken for dinner!" Mom yells, continuing to do the dishes. "Okay!" I yell back. Then I'm running up the stairs. I pull my notebook out of my backpack and sit criss cross on my bed.

I like Clay... I don't know what I'm supposed to do now because he definitely won't like me back. I need to get over this silly crush before it gets to be too much.

Suddenly my phone vibrates. Snatching it from my bed, I check the notifications. It's a text from Clay.

Clay

I would just text you :)

My face heats up as I type out my reply.

I hug my phone and squeal, doing a little happy dance. I get to hangout with Clay again! Outside of school! "What are you squealing about up here?" Mom interrupts me. I stop immediately, my face turning as red as a tomato. "Uh- um- I- uhhhh." I try to come up with an excuse, failing miserably. "You were talking to someone! Who is she?" Mom asks excitedly, sitting next to me on the bed. "Actually he is a really good friend of mine." "Oh~ What's he like?" She asks, wiggling her eyebrows. "Well- he's super nice, really cute, and he sticks up for me!" I beam. "He sounds sweet. When do I get to meet him?" "Actually... Can he come over tomorrow?" I ask, crossing my fingers. "Of course! But first you have to admit you have a huge fat crush on him~" Mom smirks. I roll my eyes. Nonetheless I say, "Yes mother, I have a big fat crush on him."
