Sorry this came out late, it was gonna come out on schedule, but i doubted it if it was good enough to put out, so i got a teacher to read it and they said they liked it.

So i changed a few details of this chapter, sorry, hope it was worth that wait!!

--------------------------------------------------------------

A week had since passed the incident at the hideout.

Things were gloomy since then.

Barely anyone played outside, as their parents were concerned about the safety of their children.

Since since virtually no one went to the park, it laid empty.

Mostly quiet.

Except for the ocassional creaks from a swing set pushed in the wind.

Or the sounds of a toy being knocked down.

Or the rocks on the pavement being rolled in the wind.

Or crows cawing, while circling the lake Hero had been found in.

So those who still went to the park found the situation unnerving.

Sunny had tried to come back after a day, to talk with Kel.

But after seeing the fear stricken in the town

He realized it probably would be best to leave for the time being.

Before leaving, Sunny ran into Aubrey.

He said he'd heard the news. And told her if she could tell Kel that he was sorry for his loss.

He then handed then phone number for the hotel room he was staying at.

"Call this if you guys need me."

And then he left.

The police lingered around town in their cars, slowly driving the empty streets. Despite the case being deemed a 'accidental drowning'

Maybe it was to give the illusion of safety.

But in their hearts.

Everyone knew the truth.

Someone must've been out there that night.

Someone must've killed Hero.

-9am-

Aubrey sat atop the monkey bars of the playground. Being alone. Just like when Mari had died, no one she knew was there.

Except this time.

There was really no one outside.

Only the sounds of the vacant playground accompanied her.

Ocassionally, she'd see people walk the streets.

Adults with their children, as soon as they saw Aubrey they'd quickly hurry along to their destination, ushering their kids to do the same as they pulled them along.

It was only expected.

People were confused about what had happened, why it had happened.

Aubrey only watched.

As the wind blew harder.

Most of her gang inside.
