Chapter 20: Music and Silence

After two months of semestral break or summer vacation, every students in Zeph University will go back to classes and another term starts.

Before that, there's a General Assembly held a week before the first day of new semester and our bands where invited to perform.

Parang ang tagal na noong huli kaming tumugtog sa entablado at kumanta kasama ang mga kaibigan ko.

At first, I almost attacked by stage fright when I sang alone in front of the crowd. It was a doxology where I'm the only one who sang on stage and Sine accompany me by playing a piano. I manage to overcome my fear as I also want to do it again after a long time. Good thing it also lasts during the performance with our own bands, boys and girls has merged in one group and duet with Sine. Even though I'm singing on stage, I can imagine myself as one of the crowd, amazed of how we perform together.

Regne is also with us and he'll sing with Zera at the end of the event. Kahit matagal na niyang sinabi na hindi na siya kakanta ulit dahil busy sa school, lagi pa rin siyang sumasama sa amin at game na game makipagduet sa taong mahal niya.

"I hate to admit that I always like watching the two singing together as if their old band Lucky A's still existing."

Napangiti ako sa sinabi ni Ghenea habang nanonood na kami ng pagkanta nila Zera at Regne. Siya lang ang kasama ko sa crowd dahil ang iba naming mga kaibigan ay nasa backstage at doon sila nanonood. Sine was with us last time pero nagpaalam itong sasama kay Fierce sa pagbili ng mga pagkain para sa aming lahat.

"How about if they pursue their passion in the future? That would be great for sure."

Nakita kong ngumiti si Ghenea sa sinabi ko.

"I can already see them just like what you have said. Even though the career related to their programs where not aligned, the two were born strong of being attached to music."

Lumingon sa direksyon ko si Ghenea pero hindi ko maaninag ng maayos ang kanyang mukha dahil medyo madilim sa pwesto namin.

"Always fight for the things and people you love. As long as you don't take someone's source of happiness, you'll also feel the genuine happiness you want to have."

Matapos sabihin ni Ghenea 'yon, niyaya ko itong bumalik sa backstage dahil baka dumating na sila Sine doon. Since she still want to finish the two Lucky A member's performance, pinauna na niya ako at susunod na lang siya.

Habang naglalakad sa pathway, tinanggal ko ang mask na lagi kong suot tuwing kumakanta dahil wala naman akong nakakasalubong na tao. Pagkatapat sa isang cr, muntik na akong may makabungguan kaya mabilis akong napatigil at humingi ng paumanhin sa kanya.

"Sorry! Hindi agad kita nakita kasi--"

Pagkakita ko sa kanya, hindi ko naituloy ang paghingi ng paumanhin nang makilala kung sino ito. Miski siya ay hindi rin makapaniwala na ako ang nasa kanyang harapan. Noong makabawi ito sa pagkagulat, nandoon pa rin ang pagtataka sa kanyang mukha pero nagawa na niyang magsalita.

"Kiera? Ikaw 'yan, 'di ba?"

Noong hahakbang sana ako paurong, may biglang humatak sa kamay ko kaya napatalikod ako sa babaeng tumawag sa pangalan ko.
