I sat on my bed when my phone rang and Peter's name popped up. "Hey." I answered.

"Hi, you okay?"

"Yeah. How was it?"

"It was fine. Bit awkward that's all."

"What? With my dad?"

"Yes. It's cool don't worry."

I heard the front door slamming. "He's back." I walked downstairs. "I'll pick you up tomorrow?"

"Nah, it's okay. I'll see you at school."

"Okay. Bye." I hung up the phone.

"Dad."

"Yes?" He turned to face me.

"How was it?"

"Was what?"

"Come on!"

"No, Ames, yeah, it was fine."

"Dad, Peter's my boyfriend."

"Yes, I'm aware."

"And he's working for you."

"What's you point?"

"You're dead if he's hurt." I walked to the stairs.

"I love you too, Amelia."

I got out of my car and walked to my locker waiting for Peter to show up.

"Hey Ames." I heard Liz's voice from behind me.

"Hey. How are you?"

"I'm good, thanks. You?"

"I'm fine. Everything is okay."

I saw Ned and Peter a few meters away from me. "I'm really sorry about all that happened with your dad."

"Oh, thanks. Yeah, look, I need to go. I'll see you later."

"Bye." She walked away with her friends.

"Bitch." I muttered.

"Hey, Stark!" Flash called me across the hall. "Wanna go out with me?"

"No thank you, Flash! I'm good." I replied and people around him laughed.

"Peter!" I yelled for him to wait. He turned to look at me and smiled.

"Hey!" He said.

I hugged him and then turned to Ned. "What's up?" I asked him.

"Good thanks. I'll see you guys later." He walked away.

"Hey, so, what are you doing after school?" I asked Peter.

"I was gonna go around the neighborhood."

"Okay, cool. Come over later then?"

"Yeah."

At lunch I had to help Liz and Betty with the homecoming sign. "Hey, that looks great!" A girl said.

I looked over and saw Peter watching me. I smiled at him and then turned back to the girls.

"Ames, you okay?" Liz asked me.

"Yeah, totally."

"Do you have a new boyfriend? Like, after Jake and stuff."

"Umm, maybe." I said, quietly.

"Wait seriously? Who?"

"I can't tell you."

"Amelia, I'm you're best friend."

"Still, Liz. I can't."

"What's up with you and Parker?" Betty asked me.

"He's at the Stark internship, so I see him a lot. Why?"

"Nothing. You look close."

"Okay... well, it's nothing."

I don't know why I lied.
