Bruno & Tammy crept up the stairs into his room, and he opened a few drawers before chuckling softly.
"How cold are you?" he asked.
She suddenly felt aware of the chill around her shoulders. "Um... pretty cold, to be honest."
He pulled out a pair of tracksuit bottoms and a tshirt. "D'you want a jumper too?"
She nodded, "if that's okay?"
He rolled his eyes. "I'd better get this back, though. It's my favourite."
He threw a hoodie at her, and she immediately grinned as she saw the large Liverpool logo on the front.
"There's a pack of new toothbrushes under the bathroom sink if you want."
She made her way to the bathroom and spotted Cora's makeup wipes, feeling extremely grateful for them. She took off her makeup as best she could, and made her way back to Bruno's room.
He grinned when he saw her.
No makeup, wearing his clothes, which were far too big on her. She must have looked silly, but he clearly found it adorable.
"D'you need anything? Water or anything?"
She shook her head. "Nah, I should be right. Thanks though."
He nodded. "Alright. See you in the morning then."
She jumped into his bed, slipping under the covers.
"Oh, wow, your bed is comfy."
He sighed. " Night Tammy "
He flicked the light off, and she heard his footsteps quietly moving toward the bathroom.
Tammy lay her head down on the pillow, breathing in the scent of him.
She felt relaxed for the first time in ages as she felt herself immediately drifting off to sleep.
***************
Bruno had completely crashed out on the couch. But he awoke not even an hour later when his phone loudly chimed next to him.
Tammy: Are you awake? Sorry
He furrowed his brow, but immediately got up and made his way silently up the stairs. He knocked on his door, softly, but she didn't answer.
As he pushed it open, he could tell something was wrong. His bedside light was on, and she was sitting up, her head on her knees.
"Sorry, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry." She was hyperventilating.
She was freaking out.
Of course she was. She'd woken up in the middle of the night, alone in the dark, and in an unfamiliar place. He kicked himself for not thinking of it.
His heart sank. He immediately sat down on the bed next to her.
"Tammy, it's okay. Hey. Breathe. Breathe "
He breathed slowly in, counting to four, then out again, counting to four. She followed his breathing.
"Woke up in a new place?" he whispered.
He could see in the low light that she nodded. He gently placed one hand on her back, stroking it gently.
She lifted her head. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry about this. I'm usually fine indoors, it's just that I was alone, and I didn't..."
