Bruno planted a kiss on Tammy's cheek. "I won't be long, promise."
"Why are you worrying about leaving me here so much today?" She eyed him suspiciously. "This is like the third time you've told me you won't be long. What are you up to? "
He grinned, laughing. "Me?! Up to something?! Whatever makes you think that?"
She cracked up. "Just go wherever it is you're going!"
Bruno planted another kiss on her cheek, and she picked up a lime, threatening to throw at him.
"Okay! Okay! I'm going!"
He looked back at her.
"Love you"
She grinned at him, rolling her eyes, motioning for him to come back. He did, and she planted a quick kiss on his lips, running her hand through his hair.
"Love you too" .
Bruno stepped out onto the chilly street, wrapping his coat tighter around him. It was fucking freezing today. But it wasn't a long walk.
He glanced over his shoulder toward the bar, and started walking to Robbie & Deb's.
2 and a half years.
It felt like just yesterday he'd asked Tammy to be his girlfriend.
And then only a few months after that that Robbie had gotten the all clear for his illness.
And then only a few months after that Bruno & Tammy had moved in together. Or, more accurately, they'd re-done the rent with Cora.
And then only a few months after that he'd started making plans for how he was going to ask.
He blew air out, his breath circling in the frigid air like a curl of smoke.
But he was ready now.
2 and a half years
He'd made this exact journey at damn near a sprint to tell Robbie he was going to ask Tammy to be his girlfriend.
But it had been the middle of summer. And it certainly wasn't now.
He walked up the familiar steps, and turned the doorknob, letting himself in.
" Oi, lovebirds , you about?"
"Oh, Bruno, that you mate? In the lounge."
He hung up hit coat, kicking his boots off at the front door.
Robbie and Deb were sitting in the living room, curled up with a book on the couch next to each other.
" Awwww. Look at you two."
They grinned, shaking their heads.
"What do you want, dickhead?" Robbie laughed.
"Gotta talk to you. Proper serious conversation. And it's about Tammy, so you'd better pay attention."
Robbie and Deb looked at each other, small smiles tugging at the corner of both of their mouths.
"Oh is it now ? And is there a reason she's not here for it?" Robbie peered at Bruno, raising an eyebrow. They both put their books to the side.
