Ten months later.
"Are you sure? " Cora asked
"Yeah. I'm sure. I just checked my app."
"How long? When was your last one?"
Tammy racked her brain. "Um.... I don't actually know if I had it last month, either."
"What! And you didn't think to..."
"I was so busy with the wedding!"
Tammy felt a knot of panic in her stomach. They'd been married for two weeks. Two. Weeks. And now...
"And you haven't been feeling sick in the mornings or anything?"
"Not other than today, but it's like Bruno said. It's probably the Shawarma from yesterday, right?"
The girls looked at each other, and Tammy hesitated. "Right?"
"Well... maybe we should go buy a test. Just to make sure." Cora giggled.
Tammy inhaled sharply, blowing air over her lips. "Please don't laugh, I am freaking out "
"Well, shit... I mean, it's not like he wouldn't be thrilled."
Tammy laughed. "No, no, I know. But fuck , babe. I'm still freaking out"
Cora cuddled her. "We don't even know if you are, yet. Let's just go buy it first."
They walked down to the grocery store, and Tammy picked up a bag of crisps, and a few other random things so disguise the tests she was buying.
Cora laughed. "Tee... you guys are married. Plus, I doubt anyone would care that you were buying pregnancy tests"
"Shhhhhhh!" Tammy burst into a fit of giggles. "I know, but I just... argh!" she groaned in frustration. "We need to get home. I need to know now. "
Tammy kept her head down as she went through the self-checkout, and her and Cora hurried back home.
"How many are in the box?" Cora asked.
"Five. I'm doing all of them at once. It's lucky I needed to pee anyway"
Cora cracked up through the bathroom door.
Tammy washed her hands and they flopped down onto the lounge. "What do I do if I am?"
"What do you mean?"
"What do I do? Like... do I go to the doctor? Do I tell Bruno first? My mum?"
Cora looked at her. " How am I meant to know?"
Tammy laughed, as Cora pulled her in for a hug.
"You just gotta do whatever feels right, I guess. How long do we have to wait?"
Tammy checked the timer on her phone. "8 more minutes."
Cora brought up her phone, pulling up the first recommended Youtube video that was about the right time. As the video played, and the time ticked away, Tammy felt her stomach turning more and more. The knot of anxiety grew... and grew... and grew...
She was so nervous that she thought she might throw up.
No.... wait.
She got up, running to the bathroom, throwing up into the toilet.
Cora followed her in, pulling a hair tye off the counter and tying Tammy's hair back.
"Babe..." she whispered, softly.
