It was easy enough to avoid addressing his feelings for Tammy for at least the next few days by helping her move. Fortunately, Racer's being closed for the next few days, her mum and dad were available straight away. Robbie and Deb cleaned out her old room at home that very day. Then, the following day, they, Bruno, and Cora, went over to her and Levi's place with boxes, packing up everything that was hers.
He refused to leave while they did so, repeatedly begging for them to get her to call him, but she'd already blocked his number.
Robbie and Levi almost came to blows multiple times over it, but Bruno intervened each time.
"He's absolutely not worth it, mate." he'd said, clapping Robbie on the shoulder. "Look at him. He's done this to himself. He's only sorry because he got caught."
Levi had tried to fight him over that comment, but Bruno was having none of it. He just pushed Levi away.
After they'd finally moved all of her stuff out of his place, they moved it over to Robbie & Deb's, where Tammy was waiting for them.
Bruno made jokes to try and cheer her up, mostly by pretending to not be able to lift things and feigning embarrassment. It worked, and soon they were having a competition about who could find the lightest thing to not be able to lift.
He opened a box and took out a single shoe, pretending to not be able to lift it out of the box, and she found an old notepad, ripping out a leaf.
She gripped the single sheet of paper with both hands, as if she was carrying a kettlebell, and pretended to lug it toward the house.
"Urgh, I'll have to take it one sheet at a time, it's so heavy "
They both busted up laughing, just as Deb stepped out of the house. She instantly looked between them, and shot both him and Tammy a look that told them she immediately knew what was going on.
They both blushed.
"Stop mucking around, you two! Get yer arses to work" she laughed.
Tammy picked up the box her notepad had come from, chuckling, and making brief eye contact with Bruno, before making her way back up to the house.
As soon as she was out of earshot, Deb turned to him.
" Bruno..." she said, playfully, clearly wanting to be filled in on the situation.
He smiled at her. " Deb..."
"Does she know you like her?"
Bruno scoffed, ready to deny everything and anything. But... something felt wrong about lying to Deb. He knew she could tell. It was written all over his face.
He frowned, sadly. "Yeah. She does. But... not how much."
Deb chuckled, sighing happily. "And you're planning on telling her when ?"
He laughed, grinning at her, immediately avoiding the conversation. Or thinking about his feelings. "What's that Deb? Sorry, can't hear you over the sound of all this hard work I'm doing here!"
He stacked two boxes on top of each other, carrying both at once. He stuck his tongue out at Deb, and walked off as she cracked up laughing.************
By the time Wednesday rolled around, Bruno was feeling nervous as fuck .
It was just going to be him and Tammy again. And they'd been unusually quiet on Wednesdays at the moment. That meant they'd be alone. And that meant...
