Chapter 16

Megan and Daniel started heading their way down the boardwalk towards Trevor. Daniel with started rubbing his hands together and rubbed the sweat on his shorts. 

"Good luck!" Megan said sitting back down on the bench. 

"Hey, Meg how are you?" Trevor asked trying to reach out for Megan's hand. 

"He already knows. You don't have to pretend anymore. He needs to tell you something really important. Go with him," Megan explained moving her hand away. 

"Um okay?" Trevor said looking sadly into Megan's hazel eyes. 

"Hi uh Trevor," Daniel said stumbling on his words. 

"Daniel. What's up mate," Trevor said putting his hands in his pockets and looking at the ground. 

"So I just wanted to ask you if you know about Megan's situation right now. I know you've guys had some rough patches and maybe going through some right now. Or even later you guys might get into a fight that will ruin all her plans if you took all the money away­­" Daniel said trying to talk faster than usual until Trevor interrupted him 

"I. Don't. Know. Daniel. Just tell me!" Trevor said shaking Daniel's shoulders. 

"Okay so Megan's uncle is sick. The one in London who helped her out. And he needs a lot of surgery that's going to come with a cost. She texted me a bit back about it. Anyways Megan's planning to pay for most it through the money she'll make through the paintings. I just don't want you to think so merely of this whole painting adventure thing. If she doesn't get the money then she will never be able to pay for the surgeries. She'll lose her uncle forever. He's the only person that really knows her aunt the way she did and if you screw up with this whole situation then it will be all for nothing. I'm just looking out for her okay?" Daniel explained looking at Trevor's brown eyes. 

"I­..I didn't even know," Trevor said stuttering. "I don't have any bad intentions for Megan and even if we have a big fight or something I would never just run away with the money. Trust me I'll take of her." 

"Thank you so much. I feel a little bit better now. Oh and please don't tell Megan I told you this. She would be furious with me," Daniel asked Trevor politely. 

"Yeah sure of course. Thanks for telling me. I don't think she would ever tell me this even if I begged her," Trevor stated. 

Daniel and Trevor headed back to Megan sitting on the benches. Daniel decided to drive Trevor and Megan back to their hotel for the night.

*Back at the hotel*

"So not to be nosy..." Megan said with a high pitched voice as she lay on the big queen bed. 

"You could never be nosy. You're too cute," Trevor said as he packed all his clothes into his suitcase. 

"Haha. You're weird when you flirt. I'm just gonna not continue..." Megan said until Trevor interrupted her. 

"Well you're gonna have to deal with me for another 3 weeks so you should get used to it. Anyways continue your sentence," chimed Trevor. 

Megan lay on her back and looked at the ceiling. "So what did you say to Daniel?" She said looking at Trevor from the corner of her eye. 

"I just told him that I didn't feel the same way and that I was 100% completely straight. He looked pretty sad when I told him. I actually thought he was gonna cry and then I would feel worse about the whole situation," stated Trevor going along with the lie that Daniel told him to continue if Megan ever asked about it. 

"Oh okay that's good," Megan said giving off one big yawn and resting her head on the pillow. 

"Good as in you're happy I'm single or you're happy I'm straight," Trevor said zipping up his suitcase and taking a seat on the couch. 

"Neither. I'm happy you told Daniel the truth and he accepted it. I don't like you that much Trevor," Megan said laughing and blushing at the same time. 

"You like me enough to make you blush right?" Trevor said giving out a small smile. "Right? Hello? Megan? You there?" Trevor asked looking back at Megan, eyes closed, head on her pillow. 

"That's okay. You'll like me sooner or later," Trevor said pulling the blankets on Megan's body. "Goodnight Meg. I'll be dreaming of you," 

Trevor turned off the light and began to sleep on the couch.
