Chapter 25

12:02 p.m, three knocks at the door and Megan was all ready to head out the door whether Trevor was going to be at the office or not, but something changed.

"Megan? You awake yet?" Trevor asked sweetly at the door.

"Maybe..." Megan said peering close to the door trying to hear what Trevor was saying. She finally opened the door only to be greeted by ecstatic Trevor lifting her up and hugging her tightly.

"Oh I'm so glad you answered I thought you were really mad at me and that's the last thing I want you to feel because it makes me even more sad to see you sad Megan I'm so sorry I..." Trevor said rushing in his words never losing touch of Megan.

"Shhhh. It's okay. Really," Megan said breaking Trevor's long speech and holding Trevor's face, putting her finger to his lips.

"Megan, I'm so happy you forgave me. You were running through my mind all day and night," Trevor said giving Megan another warm embrace.

___

Soon the painting was sold after Trevor and Megan finally compromised. 35,000 Euros wasn't bad at all for the three paintings their agent had collected. Trevor insisted on coming with Megan to meet her uncle but Megan wanted to visit him by herself so it felt more personal. All the money would go to his surgery and Megan had no doubt in her mind to give all the money towards it. Her aunt would have wanted that anyway and family is family.

___

"I'm leaving on Tuesday..." Megan said quietly looking at her computer screen.

"What? So soon?" Trevor asked raising his voice.

"Yeah. I have school starting soon back in America. I just- I don't know how a long distance would work. We would be in different countries and-"

"Are you breaking up with me because I swear we can make it work!" Trevor said tearing up.

"I just think it would something to highly consider." Megan said calmly.

"You know what?! I can't believe you!" Trevor said standing up from Megan's bed, where they were laying together. "I care about you so much and I want to be able to take you out on dates and hold your hand and-"

"Trevor...if we are in two different countries we can't do any of that!" Megan says angrily.

Trevor walked towards the door to grab his bag. Megan watched him carefully wondering if he was going to take his bag and leave.

"What are you doing?" Megan questions.

"Here. Take these. Tell me when you finish reading them." Trevor said handing Megan the papers while throwing his galaxy print backpack over his shoulder and proceeded to walk out the door.

"Wait-what are these?" Megan says shuffling through the letters and papers Trevor handed her.

"Just read them...okay?"

"Fine. I will."

"Good." Trevor says, "I'll talk to you soon."

Megan watched Trevor get in his car and drive away from her Uncle's house before she picked up the papers Trevor had handed her. They were all addressed to her. She grabbed the first one and ripped open the large, rectangular envelope. She pulled out the letter and began to slowly read it.

Dear Ms. Megan Parker-Fields,

Thank you for your interest in The University of Cambridge for the enrollment of the 2016-2017 school year. We are pleased to inform you on your acceptance in the field of teaching here at our university. If you plan on attending in the fall of this year, please call our Board of Admissions. We hope to see you this fall!

Megan re read the letter confused on how she was accepted into a school that she hadn't applied for. Megan place the letter back in its envelope and grabbed the next letter. Once she opened all of the letters, which all letters from universities in England, she ran out her room to find Sam.

"SAM! SAM!" Megan shouted through the house.

"IN THE LIVING ROOM!" Sam shouted back at her.

Megan walked into the living room and waved the letters in her hands at Sam.

"What the heck? Did you put in applications at all these schools for me? Is that why you wanted to read my essay?" Megan said confused.

"Um..well...I...uh..Trevor...and..we...ya know.."Sam stuttered.

"Well what?"

"We put in your application before you came. He had approached me after he found the backpack was yours. My information was on the flyers." He said explaining what had happened to Megan.

"So, basically you thought that it would be a good idea to put applications into these schools because..." Megan said still extremely confused.

"Look. To be honest I just really wanted you to stay here. You always seem happier here in England and I was just looking out for you. And besides if you stayed here, you could go to school with Trevor. He got into Cambridge too, you know." Sam said biting his lip.

"Oh. Well I mean I guess I really do like England a lot, but still there is a lot to consider. I think I'm gonna just call my mom and hit the haystack." Megan says quietly.

"Hit the haystack? Okay. Sleep tight." Sam says back as Megan makes her way back up to her room in the house.

Once Megan had gotten back to her room she threw herself onto her bed. She really had no clue what to do. Half of her wanted to stay here in England with Trevor and immerse herself in the culture. But the other half wanted to go home and see her parents in a place that was so familiar to her. The best thing, she thought to do, was to call up her mom. She always seemed to know what Megan should do in tough situations. Megan picked up her phone and dialed her mom's number. After a few rings her mom's strong American accent ran through the phone.

"Hi mom!" Megan says.

"Oh sweetheart, we've missed you so much!" Her mom exclaims.

"Me too ma." Megan says tearing up.

"So did that boy of yours give you those letter yet? Oh my gosh! He didn't did he! I totally just spoiled the-"

"Mom...I got the letters from Trevor. That's why I'm calling you! I need your advice." Megan says laughing at her mom's response.

"Advice? On what?" Megan's mom says.

"I don't know where I should go, I mean I really like Trevor, but I-I just don't know." Megan says sighing.

"You know what I always say. Follow your heart. That boy must really like you to go to such an extent to get you to stay, but do you really like him? Because if you do, I totally approve!" She tells Megan.

"Mom," Megan says blushing, "thank you for the advice. I'll talk to you soon, I'm getting a bit drowsy. Love you."

"I love you too sweetheart. Sleep well."

"Night mom."

"Night."
