Chapter 23
Back in London, England. The place of big cathedrals, big billboard signs, classy shops, and traffic. Yup, they were stuck in traffic for the 20th time possibly from throughout their whole trip. They were expecting it but it kind of killed the mood from the airport. Right as they were walking back from Heathrow airport holding hands they were greeted by car honking and a gloomy rainy day. But if there were any people that day to make the best of the gloomy weather it would be them. In that moment they felt invincible, gleaming of love and hope. It almost made the sun peak through the dusty skies.
"30 more minutes sir," said the taxi man in the front seat.
"Alright. Not too bad at the look from the weather forecast," Trevor said looking at the sky through the windows.
"Are you excited to be back again?" Trevor asked Megan who was looking at the window.
"Yeah. I guess. The trip was kind of tiring but I wish it was prolonged more you know," Megan answered back with a sigh. "But I'm glad I'm here with you now."
____
*Back at Megan's Uncle's house*
Trevor helped Megan get her suitcase from the trunk of the car. Megan thanked him and Trevor left to go to his apartment building. He would need to take a train to Bristol since he only came to London to meet Megan before. Megan was greeted with her uncle's cat, Harry who he had asked Sam to care for since he went to the hospital. She turned around to drag her bag up the stairs thinking no one was there until something rattled in her ear drums. The sound of pots and pans got Megan's attention.
"Is anybody home?" Megan asks out in the open.
"Ugh" Megan turned around to see Sam holding the cat in his arms.
"Siam! Oh my gosh you scared me," Megan said swatting Liam's arm.
"Sorry. I didn't know. I had headphones on," Sam said replied taking his headphones out from his ears.
"And the cat?" Megan questioned pointing one of her fingers at the auburn colored cat.
"I was going to take her outside. She loves going out there. Anyways, do you want me to make you some tea, so we could talk about your trip and future plans," Sam suggested putting the cat down to explore the backyard.
____
"Wait so you two are together?! Wow I didn't see that coming," Sam said in a sarcastic tone. He then took another sip of his warm tea and adjusted his body.
"Are you saying you already knew we were going to end up together?" Megan asked with a smile on her face.
"Well... I wouldn't say knew. I would say maybe predicted that you guys might be together," Sam replied setting the tea down. "But you don't look too bad together I have to admit."
"Thank you. It's been the second time someone has complimented us... being you know... a couple," Megan thanked. Sam gave back another smile.
"Shall we watch a movie until we fall asleep?"Sam asked politely.
"We shall. I was thinking Pitch Perfect?" suggested Megan.
"I miss watching American movies with you," Sam added.
"Well you're gonna love this one. It's hilarious and umm.. what's the word... witty," Megan said using her failed attempt at a british accent.
*2 hours later*
Megan had fallen asleep on the couch when she was watching and had wrapped herself around a warm fuzzy blanket that Sam gave her. In the middle of the movie Sam had already went to his bedroom because he was just exhausted from what he had done throughout the day. He didn't want to pour all his troubles on Megan when her life was going fine and dandy. He was happy for her, but being with her wouldn't take away from his real troubles.
___
"Hey Trevor! I'm right here!" Megan exclaimed as she waved her hand until Trevor in the cab finally came over to where she stood. "Oh and thanks Sam for the stay. I really appreciated it."
"I'm just doing what cousins do," Sam said waving goodbye as he held the cat in one hand. "Harry says goodbye as well," exclaimed taking Harry's paw and using to say goodbye.
"You two be good now. I'll see you soon," Megan said already getting into the Uber.
"Hey Trevs," Megan said enthusiastically when she met Trevor's brown eyes again.
"Hello babe," answered Trevor using the name to refer to Megan for the first time. "Is that okay?"
"What? Okay to say? It caught me off guard but I don't mind you usssiing it," Megan confessed.
"I'll use it more often than babeeee," Trevor said extremely long.
"Okay not like that. Calm, cool, and sweet. Keep it calm, cool, and sweet," Megan said using her hands to emphasize the words she spoke.
"Well that's a weird way to describe it but okay. I'll use it the normal way," Trevor said laughing and smiling at Megan.
Soon enough they had arrived at the auctioning office to meet with the same auctioneer they met with before. It was in the north side of London where the shops weren't too nearby but all of the business was there. The last time they were here Megan dreaded the whole day and she couldn't stand Trevor. Two months later and it was the complete opposite. They walked into the office and were immediately greeted by Louis, one of the workers they had met before.
"Hi Louis!" Megan said enthusiastically.
"Why it's nice to see you again Megan. And you too Trevor," He said in his proper british accent.
"I would like to see Mrs. Cecilia for a meeting that we scheduled. It's for a painting," Megan stated as Louis was typing away on his keyboard.
"Ahh yes, indeed you are scheduled. Right this way then," Louis responded escorting the two to the big office room where Mrs. Cecilia sat in her desk.
They exchanged their usual greetings and then went straight into business regarding the painting.
"It's nice to see you to again. How did finding all the pieces of the painting work out?" Cecilia asked while continuing to look at the paperwork regarding some auction information.
"It was good. We found all of the pieces and managed to enjoy some moments of the trip as well. We have all the paintings in this big bag," Trevor explained putting the big bag which contained the big paintings on his lap. They were a little heavier all together but Trevor managed to carry it around with his muscles.
"I can take it now if you want. Some of the workers can just fix it up and make it look nice for advertising," Cecilia suggested. Trevor then handed her the big bag which she made Louis take out in the back where the rest of the workmen were.
"I know we said it in the last meeting but I was wondering how much the painting would be sold for? You know like a rough estimate. I kind of need as quick as possible," chimed Megan.
"Oh probably at least 15,000 or higher. It really depends on the audience. You'll get your money soon after the auction," Cecilia answered.
"Okay that's good. Whose account will it be on?" Trevor asked even though he tried to the avoid the question.
"Well I believe it's 50/50 right? Like what's on the contract," Cecilia questioned.
"Can we not talk about this," Megan said falling back on her seat.
