Killian pov
After Rosie left, I fixed myself a small breakfast, but I wasn't very hungry. Once I finished. I messaged Tyler, Violet, Anderson and Kyle to come over and they arrived after about 10 minutes
Killian - "Hey guys"
Violet - "And girl"
Killian - (chuckles) "Sorry, V"
Tyler - "Why are we here, boss?"
Killian - (sighs) "I think I have a bit of explaining to do"
Kyle - "A bit?"
Killian - "Look, I promise to tell you guys whatever you want to know. Just... sit down"
Violet and Anderson sat down quietly. Tyler was a bit mad but sat down reluctantly. Kyle, however, was pissed as hell. He sat down quickly and angrily.
Killian - "Ask me anything and I'll tell you. No secrets"
Kyle - "No secrets?! Seriously?!"
Anderson - "First of all, calm down Kyle, and second of all Kil, how long have you had cancer?"
Killian - "I was diagnosed with lung cancer in grade two when I was seven. About ten years ago"
Tyler - "Who else knows? Other than Rosie and Violet"
Killian - "Just my parents and Taylor"
I looked at Kyle and he wasn't saying anything, because he was really angry.
Violet - "I found out when Elliot adopted me"
Kyle - "So you hid it from us for ten fucking years?"
Killian - "Kyle, I-"
Kyle - "Save it, Killian. I thought we were friends. Hell, brothers even. But I guess I was wrong. Family doesn't lie to each other"
He got up and left, slamming the door behind him.
Tyler - "I... need some time to process this"
Anderson - "Me too. I'll see you later, Lucero"
They both left, but not as angry as Kyle. I let my head fall into my hands.
Violet - "I'm here for you, Kil"
Killian - "I'm okay, V. Really"
Violet - "Sure?"
I nodded. I wasn't okay at all but I didn't want her to have to deal with my shitty life. We talked for a bit and eventually, she left too. I worked on my novel before my phone went off. (*These are the messages from Rosie*) I continued to work on my novel until Rosie got here.
Killian - "Hey..."
Rosie - "Hey. You okay?"
Killian - "I want to me, but honestly... no"
She walked up to me and straddled my lap.
Rosie - "Maybe I can distract you?"I bit my lip and nodded. After we finished, she smiled and sat next to me on the couch.
Rosie - "Did that distract you?"
Killian - "It did. Thank you"
She paused for a moment before she said;
Rosie - "Do you wanna talk about what happened with your friends?"
Killian - "Not really, but I think I should"
Rosie - "You don't have to if you're not ready, Killie"
Killian - "No, I am. I promise"
Rosie - "Okay. So what happened?"
Killian - (sighs) "Well I called everyone over and I could tell Kyle was already pissed. I told them to sit down and ask me whatever they wanted to know. Anderson asked how long I've had cancer and Tyler asked me who else knows about it. Kyle never said anything. When I said I had it for ten years he exploded then he left and slammed the door. Tyler and Anderson left after him saying they needed time to process things"
I felt tears forming in my eyes. Rosie was playing with my hair the whole time.
Rosie - "I'm sorry, Killie. Are you okay?"
Killian - "Not really"
Rosie - "I know. And I can tell you're holding in a lot right now. Let it out"
I started sobbing and she comforted me. I didn't realize it but I was holding in everything. I can't even remember the last time I cried properly. After about half an hour, I calmed down.
Killian - "That really helped. Thank you for being here with me through everything"
Rosie - "Of course, Killie. I will always be here for you no matter what, okay? I love you"
Killian - "I love you too. Always and forever"
Rosie - "Always and forever"
We both smiled and stared at each other.
Rosie - "So, uh, do you m-maybe wanna meet my mom right now?"
Killian - (smiles) "Sure"
She let out a breath of relief and I chuckled. We both left my trailer and went to Addison's house. On the way there, Rose called her mom to let her know we were coming. I was nervous and I think she could kind of tell. She intertwined her fingers with mine. We got there and Rose opened the door. We walked into the living room and Carly and another blonde lady were there. I assumed she must have been Rosies' mom.
Anna - "You must be Killian"
Killian - "Um, hi, Ms. Gentry"
Anna - "Please, call me Anna. Ms. Gentry makes me feel old"
Killian - "Sorry, Ms- I mean, Anna"
Anna - "So Killian, Rosie told me about your situation and she wants to move here. How do you feel about that?"
Killian - "Um... I'm sorry?"
Anna - "How do you feel about Rosie moving here to be with you?"
Killian - "Well uh- I um, I don't like that she's giving up her life in New Jersey just to be with me but I support her decision"
Anna - "Hmm. Good answer"
Geez, this lady was seriously scary. I couldn't tell if she liked me or not and that just made me ten times more nervous.
Killian - "Uh, Anna, before you make your final decision, just know that I love your daughter more than anything in this world"
Rosie - "And I love him too, Mom"
She narrowed her eyes a little, looking back and forth between Rosie and I.
Anna - "I'm still not one hundred percent sure. Tell you what, we have the whole week. We can get to know each other better before I make my decision"
Rosie - "At least it's not a no"
Killian - "Thank you, Anna"
She nodded and walked away. I sighed and looked at Rosie.
Killian - "Well, that was interesting"
Rosie - (chuckles) "It definitely was"
