Part 18

Killian pov

*Five months later*

It's only a month left before I die. We stopped my treatments completely since we are one hundred percent sure that they stopped working. I knew things weren't getting better, but I guess I didn't realize how much hope I still had left. I've been getting more sick. People are trying to avoid it and I notice. We still haven't told the warriors yet. Gwen also started dating Violet and joined the warriors. I've decided that Tyler will become the leader once I'm gone. Then later if Taylor is ready and wants it, then she can get the position. Rosie is not officially a member yet, but she's already practically queen of the warriors. Eventually, she told our friends about her dad. I was in a small meeting with Rosie, Anderson, Tyler and Violet because the leader of our rival gang stole our gang mascot, a dog named Hot Dog.

Anderson - "I bet they're starving him"

Killian - "Calm down, Anderson. We'll get him"

Rosie - "We'll make a plan for after dark. We can sneak in and get him"

Tyler - "See this is why we keep her"

She playfully punched his arm.

Rosie - "Hey!"

Violet - "That's a good idea. I've been keeping an eye on them and I think I know where they're keeping him"

Killian - "Great. We'll wait until sundown, then we'll leave"

We all agreed on the plan and when sundown came we met at the diner and made our way to the hiding spot. We didn't see anyone there so I went in where I saw Hot Dog. I got him and just as I was about to leave, I heard;

Brooke - "Lucero"

I sighed. Brooke was the leader of our rival gang, the Spirits.

Killian - "I'm just here for the dog, Brooke. I'm leaving now"

Brooke - "Oh don't leave. It's just begun"

Killian - "What has?"

Brooke - "Well technically, my plan started five and a half months ago"

Killian - "I'm getting really tired of you Brooke, so you can either tell me what you're talking about now or I'm taking our dog and leaving"

Brooke - "Now now Lucero. Calm down"

Killian - "That's it. I'm leaving"

I turned around and started walking towards the gate to leave.

Brooke - "You could do that. Or I could go and pay a visit to your blonde princess"

I froze and turned back around.

Killian - "You're not going to touch her"

Another gang member - "Or maybe I'll take her myself. Touch her and make her scream like a real man"

That's when I lost it. I tried around and punched him in the face. The other Spirits came up and started beating me up. Tyler and Anderson came running up to us and fought back too.

Brooke - "I'm tired of this. Just leave them"

The Spirits backed away from us, but we all had bruises by now.

Brooke - "He'll be dead in a month, anyways"

Killian - "What the hell?"

Brooke - "I'm surprised you haven't figured it out already, Lucero. Your treatments for your cancer were working fine. I was trying to figure out a way to make all of you suffer. So, naturally, I replaced your treatments"

Rosie - "NO! YOU'RE THE REASON I'M GOING TO LOSE THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!"

Then suddenly, BANG! Rosie was shaking with a gun in her hands, and Brooke had fallen to the ground with a bullet in her chest.
