Ink placed small bottled potions into a bag while sitting in his shed. The farm boy was occasionally given orders to create healing salves and cures for the villagers as he was really the only experienced apothecary that lived there. This was how he made the extra money for his grandmother.

It was silent outside. The animals were calm and no voices came from the cottage. Lily had taken Error back to Tabet as his new clothing had been finished. Ink realized that Error was unnerved by her in some way, most likely due to her naturally flirty personality.

Ink leaned back in his chair and yawned. Despite him catching up on sleep in the forest, he was still tired. He wished there was a way to cure this sleepiness illness that he had.

What he was unaware of was that Error had been watching over him while he slept in a dangerous place.

That may be the secret truth, but to Ink, that was one of the only places that he could fall asleep in.

A soft, sudden sound broke him from his thoughts. Ink looked up to his window and saw a scruffy black cat. Her emerald jewel eyes stared at the farm boy. Ink smiled, gently patting his lap. The cat jumped down and laid across Ink's legs.

Ink: Good morning, Moon. Do you have a broken leg again?

He asked as he messaged her paws while checking for injuries. She was a barn cat that roamed around the area of the cottage, protecting Lily's and Ink's home from rodents.

She came to Ink with injuries as she commonly fought other male cats because they attempted to mate with her. Moon didn't want children which supported the fact that she was infertile. Luckily, she wasn't hurt this time.

Ink gently set the cat on the table as he began packing the rest of his supplies into his faithful satchel. Ink threw the strap over his shoulder and picked up the bottle filled bag. He left the shed with Moon trailing behind him.

Ink handed the last of the orders to a boy that was trying to get a cure for his father's illness. The son sought help to the only person that he knew who had any knowledge of the art of brewing. Ink wasn't an expert but he tried his best at aiding his people.

The farm boy waved goodbye to the young man as he continued on his way. Moon balanced along the railing of a fence, a mouse held tightly in her jaws from her successful hunt. She never failed to return to Ink's side after chasing any movement from an animal.

Ink thought about recipes in his mind as he made his way through the market square. The village was lively like always, filled with natives and newcomers. A part of him wondered where Lily and Error was. By now they should have received the clothing.

There was a voice that called Ink's name. He looked up, being met with his grandmother. Error was looking around, being dressed in one of his new outfits. It was masculine which matched his figure. Tabet was truly a master at her work.

The demon's eyes landed on the black cat that rubbed against Ink's legs. He froze in his spot. If it was one thing that demons feared, it was the feline. In their culture, cats possessed psychic abilities that could destroy the existence of anyone they disliked. It was said that mortals used them to kill his kind before they banished them to the Underground.

Ink noticed Error's sudden change in mood at the sight of Moon. He picked her up and carried her like a baby.

Ink: What's wrong Error? You seem distraught about my little friend.

Error: I'm... I-I'm afraid of cats.

He said shamefully. Demons hated feeling fear. It made them feel weak, undeserving of their powerful magic and traits.

Ink: You'll be alright. Moon has no problems with you or anyone. She doesn't like other cats.

  He said while smiling lightly.

The three of them left the square together and returned to the little cottage near the forest. Ink placed Moon on the ground, allowing her to run off in her own direction.

Lily entered the home to begin cooking lunch and Ink made his way to the animals to tend to them. Error decided to follow the farm boy to keep him company.

Error watched Ink as he played with animals, who was smiling and laughing. He felt something in his soul and...

A small smile appear
