The two stared in horror as they watched Geno motion towards the several corpses that were scattered about the once peaceful village.

Geno: Do you like my work?

Ink fell to his knees, black tears beginning to roll down his face. Everyone he knew, everyone he loved, was now dead. He could only hope that at least some managed to escape.

The demons made eye contact. Error burned with rage from his brother's actions, magic surfacing with an intent that he had not felt for a long time. The heroine had caused him to feel anger but his brother had made him feel something that was far different, it was a feeling that was more powerful and it boiled the blood that ran through him.

Error: Why did you do this?

Geno: Do you not remember anything about the conversation we had in the underworld? We agreed that you would go alone to begin conquering the mortal land, and your first pick was this country. However you have broken our agreement and the price is death. Starting with him.

Geno said calmly as he looked at Ink, who was still mourning the sudden death of his home. Error knelt beside him and attempted to comfort the mortal before the inevitable.

Error: Ink, everything is going to be okay. But now, I need you to run.

Ink: Why?

Error: Because my brother will not hesitate to kill the one I love in order to break me.

Ink: I will not leave you.

The demon hugged his lover and whispered softly.

Error: I need you to trust me. You run and I will hold him off and hopefully kill him.

Ink: I love you.

Error: I love you too. Now run.

The mortal stood up and bolted past the demons, further into the village and towards the only path into the valley that surrounded it.

Geno smiled and laughed.

Geno: I love it when they run.

Error: But you are not going anywhere.

The demons looked at each other. They knew it was like old times when they fought as children. It was a fight to the death.

Ink wiped tears that continued to roll down his cheeks, never stopping to catch his breath as he ran. All he wanted to do was to fall to the ground and cry. However he would listen to Error's word as he trusted him with his whole being.

The clearing at the end of the village slowly came into view. A small glint of hope appeared within Ink as he quickly approached certain escape from the murderous demon.

However, a sudden pain shot through his body. The mortal collapsed to the stone ground. A strange sensation could be felt in his fingers but it began to move through him. The closer the sensation got to his chest, the more it hurt.

Eventually, Ink could feel nothing but excruciating pain. He lost the ability to breathe, gasping for any air that he could manage to get. Ink wanted to scream out in pain however he could not as he had no air to use.

What the mortal did not know was that a particularly dangerous demon was approaching him, followed by Error.

Error knew exactly what happened. Geno had casted a spell that stopped one's ability to breathe properly. This caused them lasting pain and they were immobilized by it. It was an outlawed spell in the underground among high ranking demons for its dishonor in combat.

Error quickly went to the ground and pulled Ink close to him, muttering a disabling incantation in hopes of interrupting the spell before it killed his lover.

Geno sighed.

Geno: So tragic to see the pet die.

The younger stopped muttering as he had realized the spell was too complicated to disable. Tears were threatening to fall.

Error: Stop this.

His brother released a breath once more, almost mocking Ink for not being able to breathe.

Geno: I hate to admit it but I do care about you, brother. So I will make you a deal. I will spare your love if you agree to continue living as a demon and aid us in taking over this realm.

Error: Will Ink continue to be safe even then?

Geno: You have my word.

Error: One more condition. You spare other mortals that deserve to live.

Geno: You are pushing it, Error.

Error: Hear me out. We keep the ones that are kind and peaceful. We keep them under careful watch but we also let them live their own lives. We can even learn from them and become a better civilization as well. We will still have control but we only kill those that deserve it.

The elder groaned annoyingly but eventually nodded.

Geno: Fine, deal.

Error: Now, if you ever hurt Ink again, I will rip your head off.

Geno: I never go back on my word. Trust me, Ink is safe from demons. But now...
