Elliot ran behind the group of three as theslick, white, human sized lizard mutts chased them. They took two rights then a left and before they took another right they saw another pack of mutts coming from in front of them.
"Come on!" Elliot huffed to herself, annoyed, as she was the last to turn. Her feet padded heavily on the wet ground, splashing the small puddles that littered the ground, she slipped while she turned hastily to the right, into an open area. It had two ladders, one that led to a platform that rested in the air between the floor and the roof. The other ladder was from the platform to the top of the room and up a hatch. The floor was layered with a foot of water and lizard muttations attacking another three figures. Peeta, Gale, and Katniss were fighting the mutts as the other three squad members ran into the room. Katniss had a mutt ready to attack her, it had cornered her with her back to the wall. Finnick rushed to the victor's side and pushed his metal trident into the muttations back. Cressida shot at the mutation that had sat itself upon Peeta, biting through his only shield which was his handcuffs, Messalla was protecting Cressida's back. Elliot rushed to the only person that stood alone which was Gale, with a mutation in front of him and one about to attack his back. Elliot threw her spear into the back of the mutt that was about to jump upon Gale from behind.
"Go! Go!" Finnick kept repeating to the group. Elliot climbed to the first platform with Cressida, she looked up to see Pollux and Katniss already up the ladder and into the small hole of the hatch, Behind her Finnick reached to the first platform as Cressida began to climb. As Gale started to climb onto the first platform Elliot felt a slippery hand attach itself to her ankle. Pulling her from the grated platform and into the water from below. On her way down she hit her head against the hard metal that no longer held her feet up. Shee inwardly groaned as her entire body submerged in the water. Above the surface, Finnick got ready to dive off the platform to go help the girl, but he was stopped by Gale jumping in first. Gale stood in the water looking for where Elliot was trapped with the mutt on top of her, slowly drowning her.
"Go! I got her!" Gale shouted to the blonde, Finnick froze but then slowly obliged as Gale found the girl. Elliot gasped, spitting out water as she climbed to the surface with Gale.
Gale pushed her so that she was on top of the platform, then she turned to help pull him up. Once the two were on their feet, Elliot began to climb with the brunette boy behind her.
Elliot didn't turn down to look at the man until she was at the top. She saw him climbing from behind her. As she got her foot on the fifth to top step she heard a scream and a loud thud. She didn't turn to look until Finnick had pulled her up the hatch and into the safety of his arms. She looked and saw Gale's body on the first platform trying to fight off the dozens of mutts attacking him.
It was over for him when one dragged him into the water.
"Katniss!" His scream was muffled from the water entering his throat.
