Dre's POV
I sit and ponder over everything that's gone down over the last few days, and decide that my good homie needs to be brought up to speed on what's gone down.
Rubbing a hand down my face I call out to Tiff and ask her do she wanna route out with me over Sam and Nik's.
These new developments warrant so much more than a phone call.
If I know my homie the way I think I do, he might even convene our crew to discuss this at length, which means I have to keep Tiff distracted, if she sits still too long she'll get ideas and then plot to make 'em reality!
Putting her and Nik together is a calculated risk, I am aware of this, but how much trouble can they possibly get into with me, Sam, and the whole crew assembled mere feet from them?
I gather my girl, grab some brews and head over, with Tiff at the wheel.
She seems agitated, and I know her mind is going a million places at once, so to force her out of her thoughts, I get her to push my whip.
It works.
Within moments she's totally focused on driving and watching the road.
Something gotta happen
It's gotta be soon, and it's gotta be me, or possibly Sam to end his miserable existence.
His bitch came for me, and even though I handled Nina, which, thinking back, I shouldn't have played with her already koo koo emotions.
I thought she'd accept me ending things and go slithering back to Corny, but I should've known better.
Instead, she'd become even more mentally unhinged.
She'd really believed it was me and her, I saw that when I told her laughingly, that it had all been a ruse.
Something deep inside her had snapped and now, none of us were safe.
Once Corny found out I was the reason his bitch had played in traffic, he would come for revenge.
Good, I ain't scared but I needed a lil time to assemble all of us, and then move out.
Tiffany's POV
We arrive at Nik's in record time, which really isn't far away since they just live less then a mile from us at 27th and Tasker.
Might seem a little strange that with money as long and pockets as deep as Sam's, that they still reside in the hood.
That's just Sam and Nik's way.
They could've been moved to Girard Estates, but they both loved living right in the thick of things, and even did things within their community that made them adored.
Back to school time? There they were giving out bookbags filled to the brim with school supplies, and even taking every family within a 5 block radius of them to Foreman Mills for gear.
Holidays found them giving out food baskets and Christmas had them blessing the hood with gifts.
Even Smythe and Sam's place of business was in the hood, albeit in the north side of Philly, around Columbus and Ontario streets.
It's a mostly industrial area and the brother's space is sitting upon 6 acres of land.
I know from talking to Daze that there's been talk of expanding the business to include the whole tristate area which includes New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Nik volunteered most days at St Gabriel's food bank, and even the hard nosed, no nonsense Sister Boniventure, adored her as most people do.
She's just got a way about her.
Anyway, we get over to their spot only to discover that they were not even home.
Dre calls to find where they got off to, and has a strange look on his face when he finds out that Sam had dropped her to visit the twins, and because Smythe finally left on his trip, Sam's been running things at the shop.
It's beyond strange that they aren't together, maybe they got into a squabble and went to their separate corners.
After conferring, it's decided that I'll drop Dre at End of the Road. Most of the crew is already there anyway so they'll meet and talk this out while they are all there, while I make a run to Methodist Hospital and keep Nik occupied.
I drop my man off at Road, kissing him once, amid the catcalls and war woops of the crew, then put pedal to metal and arrive at the hospital.
