We eventually made it to the mall and I found a really cute maxi dress, that was currently all the rage and one I happened to love.
It was a dusky maroon rose and white color, shot through with a golden thread that shimmered in the light.
I already had a pair of ballet flats that would go with this at home, so next we went to the hairdresser where I had long layers cut into my hair and a good inch and a half inch off that was dead ends.
He went to the barber, and while he was getting a shape and line up, a trim to his mustache and goatee,
I managed to slip out into the music store for the CDs I needed, and the adult store where I grabbed a few interesting items.
I stashed his gifts in my big handbag I was carrying and made it back to the barber before he even knew I was gone
We stopped at the Pathmark and got a few hoagie trays and a crudite platter, some veggie, spinach and onion dips, a few bottles of soda and then stopped to the liquor store for some Vodka and Brandy

All that accomplished, we headed home where we he moved the sound system to downstairs and set up a cd rack on the folding card table that was usually stored in the basement.

He went to shower, dressed emerged in a crisp pair of white jeans, a dark maroon and gold colored pinstriped button down shirt that actually picked up the colors in my dress.
We matched without even trying and I found that so cool.

Before our guests arrived I handed him the big bag of gifts I'd put together for him, just because gifts.

It contained the CDs I'd picked out and the tickets for the concert. I went ahead and ordered the whole package, which included: backstage all access VIP passes, a meet and greet and signed video of the concert cd.
He was worth it.

Also in the bag was a bottle of Grey Flannel, his favorite smell good, a tasteful diamond nose ring and two earrings for his piercings just because I wanted him to have them.
A Two Hundred and Fifty dollar gift card to Sneaker Villa because I was superstitious and would never purchase boots or sneakers for him.

I also put in two Hersey's kisses one remind him I was sweet on him, and the other so he'd never be without my kisses.

It's the little things you know?

When I handed it to him he looked shocked probably wondering when I had time to do it, but when he saw all the care that went into the package he was clearly touched.
"Concert Tickets, a meet and greet pack, aw Kid, this was sweet but I don't think we can go unless we can get Thornton to grant it"
I nodded and said,"already taken care of baby, I got you permission to attend "
He continued to go through the bag and with each new find, he looked more happy.
He laughed at the gift card and said, "Still think imma use them boots to stomp ya heart or kicks to run out, or run around on you?
Look at me Nikole," he tilted my chin up so I could see his eyes glittering like gemstones. "I would never hurt you on purpose and I can't think about cheating on you ever. That would be like throwing aside a gourmet catered dinner for a can of tuna and crackers.
As for leaving you, only way out of this for me is my death. Even then I'll always be with ya kid. I'll live on through my seeds. My hand to God!"
