Chapter 8 - Counterstrike

Meanwhile

Jam was at the camp trying to fix the communication device with little luck, he was confused as to how the machine broke and why would someone attempt to sabotage a communication device if it wasn't a random malfunction. While Hank tried to help him, Sanford and Deimos was arm wrestling with Mochi cheering beside them.

After a while, everyone got bored, Jam and Hank gave up fixing the machine, Sanford was tired if winning against Deimos, and Mochi's throat was sore from all the cheering and went to get some hot chocolate for everyone. "I wonder how everyone else is doing..." Jam wondered.

Meanwhile 

it was chaos, there were zombies from everywhere. The gang was killing as much people as they can reach. Prodigy was shooting flare guns and chopping zombies down as fast as he could. Dave was shooting zombies in the head. Zak and Lucas were launching explosives faster than sonic. But it was no use, there were zombies coming from random corners and they all appear to be summoned by Jesus.

"I've played enough videogames to know where this is going, we need to retreat."  Hilde shouted, Dave then signals Zak and Lucas to focus their firing on the roof or a wall to break out. While Zak and Lucas went to break down the walls, Prodigy decided to draw all the attention on him and charged at Jesus, tackled him down, and got into a weird fight with Jesus which ended with Jesus hitting Prodigy away.

Jalea took out his healing gun to quickly heal Prodigy as he continues to attack. Meanwhile Zak and Lucas finally got a exit out from the wall and signals everyone to retreat. Everyone rushed out the door except Prodigy and Jalea, who came out last and everyone ran back to the base.

Hilde was the fastest and ran back to the base, he bumped into Jam and shouted "QUICK, GET READY TO ACTIVATE THE DEFENSE SYSTEM!" Jam was about to ask what was happening when he saw everyone retreating with hoards of green zombies chasing them, Jam quickly got the remote out and activated the force field after everyone walked in. Jesus saw that he missed his chance on killing them and signals the zombies to retreat.

After a while everyone finally calmed down, and Hilde tugged Dave on his sweater "Psst, Dave, I need to talk to you in private." Dave follows Hilde into one of the tents and asked " What is it this time?" Hilde took out a few blueprints, and a package. "I was looking through everything, and I found this machine in one of the rooms." Dave took the blueprints and read them, it was for a machine called Portable Improbability Drive. It is a device that can break reality itself and make the user indestructible.

"JAM, GET IN HERE!" Dave yelled to Jam while Hilde opens the package, it was a nearly completed variant of the Portable Improbability Drive. Jam arrived and Dave handed him the blueprints. Jam read the blueprints, then he looked at the device Hilde is looking. "Wow, that's Fascinating..." Jam said to himself, he took the model from Hilde and examines it. "Wait, I have those parts!" Jam exclaimed, "I can finish the device, and then..." Jam stops. "And then what?" Dave asked. "And then, forget going back home. We can place our home anywhere we want." Jam finished dramatically.

Jam then took the machine outside and examines it, thinking of ways to upgrade and improve this machine to make it stronger. Meanwhile Prodigy was busy making some food for everyone. He looked through the mini fridge and found some beef, carrots, instant noodles and curry blocks. Prodigy then boiled some water, cooked the beef, then took some of the water out for the instant noodles, he washed and cuts the carrot. After everything was prepared, he put the curry block, beef and carrot inside the instant noodles and put hot water inside. Managing to make curry instant noodles.

While everyone was eating, Lucas was telling everyone to prepare themselves for a possible attack, when Jam screamed "I GOT IT!" and rushed to the portal to dissemble it. After dissembling the portal, he used many parts on the incomplete improbability drive and fixed it. "Here it is, gentlemen and gentlemen. The improved Portable Improbability Drive." Jam said in a dramatic tone. "With this... we can fight back >:D"
