Chapter 28: His Efforts

Viren was exhausted as he has been searching for Manvi for the past three hours. He returned back to the hospital and had a sigh of relief seeing her sitting on the stairs of the entrance. He rushes towards her and gets on his knees.

He hugs her tightly as for a moment he felt he had lost his sister. Manvi jerks him away, he was shocked at her reaction. He utters "mannu.."

She glances at him with extreme anger and frustration. She gets up and walks towards the car. She places her hand on the handle and pulls it in and out hard. Viren takes out the car keys from his pocket and opens the lock, Manvi sits inside and closes the door with a bang.

He sits on the steering side and heads toward home. He questions her "kaha chali gayi thi tum??"

Manvi was sitting silently, Viren was worried and he scolded her "kaha thi mannu?? Meri jaan nikal gayi thi.. Phone bhi nahi tha pareshan ho gaya main tumhe dhundte dhundte.. Bolo bhi kaha gayi thi??"

Manvi looked at him with teary eyes, she points towards her neck indicating she can't speak. Viren realizes this and closes his eyes for a moment. Unintentionally, he had hurt her. He apologized "I am sorry mannu.. Jaise tumhari majburi hai baat na kar paane ki waise hi meri aadat hai tumhari baat sunne ki.."

Manvi didn't react, she just stared outside the window. Viren takes a deep breath and thought "mujhe careful rehna hoga.. Jabtak main khud ye sachai accept nahi karunga isko sambhal nahi paunga.."

He stops the car in front of the building, Manvi gets down and marches straight towards the lobby. Viren parks the car and heads towards the lift, he comes to the floor. He enters the home and finds Manvi entering her room.

He hangs the car key on the key holder which was beside the entrance door and closes the door. He then goes straight to the kitchen and warms the food which he had prepared in the afternoon.

He places it into the microwave and drinks a glass of water. After 5 minutes, he takes out the food and commences towards Manvi's room.

He sees her sitting on the bed frustrated, again she had thrown the things on the floor. What else she could do? If she could talk, she would have confronted Viren but she can't even shout out his name.

He moves to her and says "Gussa baad mein kar lena pehle khana khale"

Manvi refuses to eat and tears escape down his eyes seeing his sister in this state. She tries to explain something to him but he fails to understand her signals. He grabs her hand "nahi samajh aa raha hai mujhe tum kya kehna chahti ho.."

She gets more annoyed with him and throws away the food plate. Viren sighed deeply "I am sorry mannu... meri wajah se teri awaaz chali gayi! Main kya karun tu bhi bata? Koshish thi na maine" he was feeling very helpless.

She keeps her hand on her forehead, she badly wanted to speak to him. Viren grabs her hand and caressed her head "shant ho jaa.. Thik hai mujhe samjha kya kehna chahti hai" he asked softly.

She points towards him and herself. Viren carefully looks at her actions, he cursed himself for this state of his sister. He pulls her into his embrace and she begins to cry as it was getting hard for her to communicate with the person with whom she shared every moment of her life since childhood.

"Mannu.. Maaf karde apne bhai ko.. Tera dard, takleef mujhse nahi dekha jaata hai! Please bachi.. Aise khane pe apna gussa mat nikal. Thoda sa..." he paused as he sensed she had closed her eyes as there wasn't any movement in her body.

He parts the hug and she had fallen unconscious. He lays her on the bed and calls for the doctor immediately.

About after half an hour, the doctor pays a visit. Viren informs about Manvi's condition, she says "Viren.. Please koshish karo aisi koi baat na ho jisse ise gussa aaye! Use a notepad agar tum iske ishare nahi samajh paa rahe ho! Baaki time is great healer for every pain"
