It was 8 am in the morning, Viren was preparing breakfast for himself and his little sister. His phone rings and he picks up the call "hello.."
"Viren.. 2 saal ho chuke hai tum work from home kar rahe ho! Ab main tumhe aur allow nahi kar sakta hun... ya toh job chod do ya phir wapas office aana shuru kardo" his boss said.
Viren sighed deeply, he said "Sir.. I am sorry main office nahi aa paunga.. Shyam tak apna resignation aapko email karta hun" he ends the call immediately.
He turns off the stove and goes towards Manvi's room to wake her up. He opens the room curtains and the sun rays touch her eyes. She turned her face away as those sun rays were disturbing her sleep.
"Mannu uth jao.." he said.
She signaled with her fingers '5 minutes'. He sighed deeply "iske 5 minute ek ghanta hota hai"
He sits on the bed beside her and pulls her closer to himself. "Uth jao chalo.."
She keeps her head on his lap moving into the most comfortable position of her sleep. He refules her hairs "utha jaa bachi.. Dekh bahut kaam hai lunch banana hai.. Market bhi jaana hai chal jaldi khadi ho jaa"
She makes faces and after a few minutes, she opens her eyes lightly. She signals him "subah subah mujhe kyun uthate ho jab sab kaam aapko karna hai toh?"
"Breakfast tujhe pata hai na tere bina nahi karta hun main... chal aaja bahar fatafat brush karke" he said tapping her cheeks lightly.
Manvi smiles, he cleans up the mess of the room. He said "kitni baar kaha hai apne gande kapde laundry mein daala kar.. Yahi chod deti hai"
Manvi goes to the bathroom closing the door with a bang which was a signal of her anger. "Ab kis baat pe itna gussa hai?" he tends to think.
After a few minutes, she comes out of the room and goes straight to the hall. Viren comes and sits at the dining table beside her.
He asked "kis baat ko leke gussa ho?"
She signals to him with her fingers that now she can clearly explain everything with her sign language why isn't he going to work at the office now?
The incident which happened 1 and a half years back still shivers him to the core. He can't take a chance to leave her alone at home for a single second after that. He said "main chala jaunga.. Tum nashta karo"
She refuses to eat, she gets up and goes to his room. Viren shouts "mannu.. Aise uthke nahi jaate hai"
Manvi comes out after a while holding his laptop in her hands. She places it on the table and opens the resignation letter which he had typed for a long time.
Viren looks at her and she says in sign language "aur bahane nahi!! Aajse aap office jaoge samjhe! Warna main bhaag jaungi ghar se"
He glared at her and said "har baar ye ghar se bhagne ki dhamki deti rehti ho.. Maine kaha na main nahi jaunga aur no behes"
She made a face, she tries to explain "aap mujhe feel karana chahte ho main akele nahi rah sakti hun? Aapke bina kuch nahi kar sakti haan??"
"Aisa nahi hai.." he replies
"Toh kaisa hai?? Office jao abhi" she demanded and gave him a angry look.
"Aise look mat de mujhe.. Main nahi manne wala hun chalo fatafat breakfast karo" Viren said eating his portion of the Poha.
Manvi pushes her plate away and crosses her arms across her chest. He takes a deep breath and said "mannu please.. Mujhe iss tarah se blackmail mat kar.. Nashta kar pehle phir baat karenge"
