Riesbyfe pov- As a member of the shield knights, I was tasked to find and kill all dead apostle vampires on sight. Of course, Michael Roa Valdamjong was high on the priority list as well as Arcueid Brunestud, but those two were as elusive as ever, never leaving a trace of themselves in the night.
Of course, as long as the Night of Wallachia is around, we will never be able to get rid of the unsightly vampires. Even if we got rid of one of the twenty-seven dead apostles that had been plaguing the city a new one would take its place before a new day dawned.
Its just a hassle... I thought to myself as I overlooked the city from the rooftops
The lights glowed throughout the city, contrasting with the cavalcade of stars in the sky. Most would say it is beautiful, but never once have I ever been able to enjoy the night. I glanced at the full moon in the distance, which has only signified death. I have had friends that have died fighting a dead apostle or they became one. Either way, death was knocking on their door.
Despite how different I am from my comrades, our hatred of dead apostles and our desire for justice ties us together. Those filthy blood-sucking demon can't be forgiven. I let out a sigh as smoke rose in the distance, followed by the faint sound of gunshots.
Ciel must have gotten hold of the seventh holy scripture, I thought. Not prepared for the lecture I was going to have to give her, I was pondering about all the work I was going to need to do but my thoughts were cut short by a screech for help in the distance. I immediately shot up and ran to where I heard the voice and was shocked to see that it was out in the open, since vampires usually don't skulk around in the center of the city, I was met by a shadowy figure veiled in darkness. All I could see were the figures' eyes glowing in the night.
"Are you a vampire?" I asked the figure, not getting an answer. Probably due to them knowing I'm from the church, I thrusted my True Apocrypha Gamaliel at them hoping to impail them with the tip of the weapon, but the target gracefully dodged with minimal effort. I kept up the assault but the figure was fast enough to dodge my attacks. The figure pulled out a gun firing shots at me, but I shielded myself with Gamaliel. I saw the figure throw something towards me. I barely dodged as I saw it was a wire of some kind. I didn't notice the second wire which wrapped around my arm. I stabbed Gamaliel into the ground to stop myself from being pulled, but I was slowly inching closer.
This is definitely a dead apostle. I thought to myself, pondering why they were using a gun and wire as opposed to their raw strength. I tilted my shield upwards to sever the wire attached to my arm, allowing me to jump back a safe distance. The figure pointed their gun at me again. This time shooting a huge blast towards me. I blocked it with Gamaliel, realizing the explosion from this blast could seriously kill someone. I barely managed to displace it upwards, sighing in relief as I looked forward to see the figure running towards me. They swatted at me. I heard the sound of their claws scratching against Gamaliel. It made a horrid screeching noise. All I could do was block the impending assault while waiting for an opening to attack. It looked as if the figure had tripped. I used that opportunity to thrust my weapon, barely grazing their face as they fell. As far as I can tell, this battle will never end due to us being evenly matched.
"You're pretty tough, but I'm just getting started" I panted bluffing, hoping that the figure would fall for it and retreat, but instead it seemed to make the figure more confident, as if they wanted to fight. The figure lunged at me, scratching me under my eye with one of their claws despite having blood dripping down my face. I noticed the figure didn't look as if they craved blood, making me wonder if they truly were a dead apostle or just superhuman. Reinforcements appeared to come to my aid. The figure started to retreat as more and more sisters piled up to support me.
"You aren't getting away" I yelled, chasing after my target, making sure they didn't get out of my sight. They jumped up onto the rooftops, the moonlight shining on them revealing the identity of the figure. I was shocked to see it was a female. Her hair was in a long ponytail and was a beautiful shade of purple. It glistened in the moonlight. She had nice fair skin. It looked silky smooth. Her clothes swayed in the wind. She glared at me with her piercing purple eyes before disappearing into the night.
I was left standing there speechless, what a beautiful woman, I thought to myself, quickly snapping myself out of it, trying to convince myself that she looked as vile as the other dead apostle that had crossed my path, but I couldn't
I think I'm in love... I thought to myself as I looked into the horizon.
