The Promise I Keep

Satsuki pov: Primate Murder let out a loud roar and launched at me fast. I stared ahead, prepared for the oncoming onslaught I was about to have to deal with.

"Graaaaaaaaaaaah!" The loud, wailing roar Primate Murder released sent me flying back. I landed on my feet, however.

"I have no time to waste..." I pant

If I want to keep my promise to Sion, I have to hurry up and finish things here; otherwise, what else can I do to keep my promise to her?

"Grrrrraaaaaaaaaaah!" It growled

I noticed it began to charge something up. "Shit..." I scoff as I realize that a beam is being charged and is going to shoot out at me, but at what output?

I could use my reality marble, but I still have to use Depletion Garden on Wallachia. This is frustrating because of all the obligations I have to fulfill.

"Here I go!" I shout

I used a downward swing, slamming Primate Murder's mouth shut. The beam fired, and it exploded inside of it. The beast kind of went and hid. Since it was hurt, I managed to push it back.

"Grnah!" It growled

It jumped at me, so I jumped too. "Sacchin Dunk: Dropping What I Hold!" I grabbed the beast and threw it to the ground.

"You can still get up!?" I shout

I began to feel lightheaded all of a sudden, and my vision became blurry.

"Riesbyfe!" Sion cried out.

I began to look around. Sion was holding her girlfriend's corpse tightly in her arms.

"This is what you get for defying me." Wallachia laughed

"Father.... Why!?" Sion screamed

What is this vision?

It doesn't matter, but this makes me feel sick to my stomach. Sion is experiencing heartache because she has the pain of having parents. Something that I'm lacking that causes me pain is causing her pain because she has it.

"Sion, you've been corrupted by your 'friends'; the role they have in this play is to lead you astray to give you hope, but all you need is your father. That is all you ever have needed. I am the only one that can love you."

"Yes father..." Sion drones

"Screw that!!!" I screamed, snapping back into reality. I know that the Tatari is showing me this. I know that I'm seeing the negative, but if we want to get through this, we can't let the Tatari influence us.

"Ugh..." I began to get a massive headache once again, and my vision was blurry like it was a moment ago.

"Satsuki Yumizuka, you are the reason my daughter suffers the most." Wallachia said

"I-" I couldn't speak.

"She fights for you in order to find a cure for you. She threw everything away. She even gave up on mourning Riesbyfe because she was so focused on you. Even now, you are playing hero, and staying behind is making her worry. You are making her hurt way more than she already has been. You are part of the problem!" I was told

"Now I'm mad!!" I scream

I grabbed Primate Murder, crushing part of its body so it would become airborne, and then I began rapidly punching it. My punches seemed to be doing considerable damage, but they were able to recover from each hit too fast.

As soon as my body tired, the beast went to eat my head. "No!" I shouted before I was eaten. However, Primate Murder was hit in the head by a metal pipe. The second of delay from that allowed me to jump away.

"Saccchin!" Arihiko shouts

"You... how did you find me?" I ask

"The tracker, remember?" He asks

"Thank you," I tell him.

"No problem, but can you actually win?" He questioned

"Probably not..." I pant

"Sacchin, what do you need to do to win?" Arihiko asks me

"I think I need to succumb to my vampirism, but if I were to do that, then maybe there is no coming back." I say

"Well, shit, we can't risk that, huh?" Arihiko grumbled

I began to charge up thinking about all the things that led up to this moment and what I am fighting for as well. I can't let everything be in vain; I have to survive. "Sacchin pun-" I was cut off by another vision. Arihiko's head exploded.

"Grrrrrrrrrrrr...." I growl

"Sacchin?" He question "Wait!" He yells

I launched forward as fast as I could.

Flashback...

"Shiki..." I called out, my voice shaky as I hesitated to get closer.

"I am Shiki, and who may you be?" A man hissed as he walked in front of the pile.

The man looked scary with his piercing red eyes, which looked bloodshot and glowed in the dark. He was very pale and looked sickly and slender, like he hadn't eaten in years. He looked ravenous and as vicious as they came, and he was covered in blood. I noticed his white hair was turning partially black as he walked closer. The smell of blood filled the air. I was too stunned to move, realizing I was his next victim.

I tried to run as fast as I could. I was still in shock and petrified by the man's aura. It just screamed death. I heard the footsteps of the man slowly approach me as I ran.

"Shiki, is that you?" I whimpered in fear, trying not to look back.

"I am Shiki Tohno," the man snarled as he finally caught up with me, plunging his fangs into my neck. I immediately grabbed Shiki's head, slowly pushing his head away and removing his fangs from my neck.

I fell to the ground and couldn't move. What transpired next, I don't remember much. All I remembered was him telling me to remember the name Michael Roa Valdamjong as he walked away.

It seemed like he transferred information to me with the bite, so I understood quickly why he told me to remember the name Roa.

"Shiki, please save me." I cried out before everything went dark.

I was supposed to die that day, but I became a dead apostle miraculously, but I couldn't control my power and went on a killing spree. I ended up running into Ciel and fighting her for a while, but she easily dispatched me, leaving me dead.

I had lost everything in a single moment. I was forced to go into hiding in order to regenerate safely. Shiki would help me. I thought surely he would take my side.

How wrong I was.

Because the next time he approached me, he would try to kill me.

"Satsuki, were you the one that went on a murderous rampage that night?" He asked calmly.

"Yes, I'm sorry, I'm a monster, but I have something I want to tell you. I love you." I said, pouring my heart out to him, but he crushed my heart.

"I don't see you that way, Satsuki, but I do see you as a dear friend. That's why I'm here to kill you."

His words echoed through my head as he hit me with a barrage of slashes with his knife, Nanatsu-Yoru, with no remorse.

Tohno Shiki is nothing but a liar.

"I'll leave you here until morning, since you won't be able to regenerate," he sighed, leaving me there.

He left me there to suffer. I thought somehow, despite his mystic eyes being in full effect, I was able to recover, and I made it home.

End of Flashback...

My fear, my pain My suffering all culminated in this moment, making me lose myself but also grow in power.

"I will keep my promise!" I snarl

This was the only thing keeping me sane. Sion I won't let you down. I will keep my promise with her because that is all I have.
