no more secrets

jungwon was tired of acting happy in school. he had to be someone he wasn't and he had to pretend that he had the perfect lifestyle - a whole family, a luxurious house, an easy life. he knew that it was wrong of him to deceive his friends but he had no choice. lies after lies, he built up this perfect image of him in school that he could no longer escape from. he masked himself from the world, but thankfully, he could now find comfort in his long talks with jay.

jay had a secret like jungwon too. it has been a week since jungwon revealed his secret to jay. this caused jay to feel troubled as he didn't want to keep jungwon in the dark as well.

"jungwon, i need to tell you something. let's go get some coffee from the vending machine after work!" jay said enthusiastically, hiding his frustration from jungwon.

jungwon beamed in agreement and the two walked together after work.

holding the cups of coffee in their hands with steam in the air, the two sipped on the hot beverage.

"so what was it that you wanted to tell me?" jungwon asked curiously.

"i, i have a secret too" jay said.

jungwon tilted his head.

"i'm an orphan" jay said with a blank expression on his face. "my parents were involved in a car accident 2 years ago. i'm too old to live in an orphanage and it's just me at home. i'm barely surviving...." 

so this was why he seemed off that day i bumped into him.... i should have asked him what was wrong back then..... he must have been so lonely

jungwon simply walked closer toward jay and engulfed him in a tight hug. he reassured jay just like how jay did for him. jungwon felt awful. all along, he felt that no one had it worse than him and he was the only one kept in a dark and lonely world. jay was too, and this made jungwon feel bad for him.

"jay, let's get through this together. you have me and i have you. you're not alone and so am i." jungwon said softly in jay's ear as jay cried into jungwon's shoulder.

the two had nothing to hide from each other anymore. now they could fully be themselves without the fear of getting exposed. they found home in each other's presence and felt at ease.

jay, you will be okay.
jungwon, you will be okay.
