nothing ever lasts. jungwon's grandma's health was deteriorating everyday due to old age. each day, jungwon and jay would visit her at the hospital before work. although jay barely knew the old lady, he was very helpful and would always care for her needs. jungwon was super restless and had heavy bags under his puffy and bloodshot eyes, causing jay to be worried. jungwon knew that his closest family would leave him one day, but he never expected it to come so soon until reality hit him.

"grandma, please, don't leave me...." jungwon said softly beside his grandma. jay went to pick up some food for the younger as he constantly missed his meals. jungwon tried to stifle his tears as he didn't want his grandma to feel bad but he couldn't help it. he didn't want her to go.

"jungwon.... promise me you will be happy when i'm gone. i know that i won't be here for long and my last wish is for you to have someone by your side. will you do that for me?" his grandma managed to cough out those words, whispering weakly.

"yes, i promise you. i love you..." the younger said, unable to control his tears, as the two locked their pinkies in a promise.

the machine beeped as his grandma's grip loosened. she was gone...

seeing the nurses rush into the room from the corridor, jay sprinted towards the room and dropped the food in his hands. there he saw jungwon crying profusely and holding onto his grandma's pale hand. he's heart dropped for the lost of jungwon's loved one. walking towards the younger, he hugged him tightly as the younger cried into his chest.

"what am i going to do now.... help me.... please" jungwon choked on his tears, gripping tightly onto jay's shirt.

why did God decide to pull such a prank on me....
