both were scared to admit their feelings, afraid of losing the precious bond they shared.
am i good enough for you, jungwon?
do you only see me as your brother, jay?
jay had always been a little touchy with jungwon and hated physical contact with others. but these days, he was being more clingy than usual, always holding jungwon's hand whenever he had the chance.

jungwon was paired up with minji for their project. she was really pretty, and super kind too. since they were from the same high school, they were more comfortable with one another and got close in no time.

"hey jay, i'll be back late tonight. doing a project with minji!" jungwon called the older.

"what time? i'll wait for you." jay replied.

the younger declined and hanged up.

jay felt slightly uneasy but brushed away the thought.

"i know you like him jungwon. it's written all over your face haha!" minji burst out in laughter as soon as she saw jungwon's flushed expression after the call.

rubbing his neck, jungwon was red with embarrassment.

"i-i don't!" he lied.

"sure sure" minji teased him. jungwon stayed silent. he wanted to be with jay but was afraid of rejection.

finally, the pair was done with their project and decided to go for some drinks at the tent bar. jungwon was still distracted about the thought of confessing to jay. it had been on his mind for some time after all. he started drinking a bottle of soju like water.

"what's wrong?" minji asked, concerned. jungwon kept quiet. he was afraid that minji would judge him for his feelings.

"are you not going to tell me?" she questioned. "it's about jay isn't it?" jungwon was tongue tied, but the alcohol pushed him to pour out his worries to his friend.

"ok fine. it's jay. i'm not sure if i'm the only one who feels this way... i can't lose him" jungwon replied before chugging down a shot.

"oh please, everyone has been talking about you two. do you not remember how jay went to pick you up? and plus, he's always staring at you with those heart eyes and he only allows you to touch him. you have no idea how many girls he has rejected..." minji reassured him.

"but he could just be thinking of me as his little brother, or a best friend." jungwon said, looking down at his feet.

sighing, he drank a bit more just before he would get wasted.

"jay, where.... are you.... i'm home..." jungwon said, feeling slightly hot from all the alcohol. he walked unsteadily towards the sofa.

just then, jay came out of his room.

"have you been drinking? you reek of alcohol. you need to control your alcohol intake." jay said, feeling annoyed. jungwon shrugged and leaned back.

"anyway, i don't want you hanging out with minji." jay said sternly.

he sounds serious. does he like her? after all, minji is the school flower. who wouldn't like her?

"do... do you like her?" jungwon asked.

jay was taken aback. was he not making his feelings obvious enough? everyone knew that jay had a soft spot for the younger.

"what do you think" jay muttered under his breath before going back to his room in frustration.
how stupid can you get.... obviously not you fool, i like you.
