jungwon woke up with a terrible headache and couldn't recall a single thing from the previous day. scratching his head, he walked around the house but jay was nowhere to be seen. he shuffled towards the dining table as a post it caught his eye.

"in case you forgot, i'm the one who brought you back. anyway, i cooked some food for you and left it in the fridge. remember to heat it up. don't worry, i already applied a leave for you at work. i'll be back late today. going to run some errands."

jungwon smiled slightly. jay was so thoughtful and always made him feel so cared for and loved. though the younger found it weird how he would be back late, which was rather unusual, he simply brushed the thought off and spent the day watching tv.

it was already 10.30 and jay was still not back. feeling worried, jungwon decided to dial jay but to no avail.

he was starting to get anxious.
where could he be?
pacing around the living room, he eventually gave up and fell asleep on the couch.

jungwon woke up in his sleep. eyeing the clock, it was already past 12. still no sign of jay... he stared into space as he worried for the him. playing with his fingers, he waited and waited.

just then, he heard rustling at the door. rushing towards it, he saw jay walking in wearily. without hesitation, he hugged jay tightly and snuggled his face in his chest. jay was taken aback.

"where have u been? and why didn't you pick up my calls? i thought something happened to you..." jungwon uttered, tears threatening to spill from his  watered eyes.

jay patted the younger's back reassuringly.

"hey, i'm here alright? i'm not going anywhere. why aren't you asleep? it's late and we have school tomorrow." jay said.

"i couldn't sleep without you. i didn't know if you were safe." jungwon whispered, still latched onto the older like a magnet.

jay broke the hug and held both of jungwon's hands.

"i'm right here okay?" jay said, his eyes sparking with reassurance and comfort. jungwon nodded, still feeling rather uneasy.

jay was now taking a shower. as soon as he finished and laid on his bed, he was greeted with jungwon standing at his door.

"um...jay... can i just.... sleep.... sleep with you tonight" jungwon said, fumbling over his words.

"of course. come here" jay said as he patted the space beside him. despite jay's calm expression, his heart was close to exploding. maybe the hangover made jungwon slightly more daring. the two laid side by side in silence.

"so... where did you go?" jungwon asked.

"secret" jay teased the younger as a smirk formed on his face.

"tell me please" he whined, turning his body to face the older who did the same.

"i went to cover your shift." jay replied calmly. he knew that jungwon would have felt bad and insisted on going to work instead, so he decided to keep it a secret until the shift was over.

jungwon felt a surge of guilt and happiness in his body. although he felt bad, he was so touched that jay would go the extra mile for him.

"you must be tired.... didn't you have school and work at the sauna before that? and plus, you even worked yesterday at the gaming cafe...." jungwon replied, feeling bad for the older who overworked himself.

"i'm fine. as long as you're okay" jay meant every word he said. the sincerity in his voice caused the younger's cheeks to heat up and blush.

jay decided to grab the chance to pull the younger into his embrace. snuggling into the warm hug, jungwon felt at ease. he felt safe. he felt complete.
