There you were sitting at your small desk as you played with the small needle in hand as you took a break from making more armour for the rest of the crew.
You were exhausted, more exhausted than any of the other crewmates. I mean, of course you are, this was your first ever battle on a ship. You felt homesick, or maybe that was just the after effect of this. Maybe everyone felt this way after their first battle.
You sighed as you poked the needle through your wooden desk and stood up as you stretched out your limbs after being in the same spot for over several hours. It was the evening of the next day and you weren't able to sleep. You didn't know why, but the fear in that one guard's eyes kept playing through your head. "Why was he so scared...?" You mumbled to yourself.
You then suddenly felt a quick pain shoot through your head. That grin, that face. It replayed in your head. It feared you. The evil grin that stared before you as your heart started to race quickly as you felt cold sweat run down your back.
You heard his laugh, he sounded like a psycho and a sudden gunshot as waves crashed over it, flooding your memories as everything went black. You gasped for air as you began to cough and noticed that same crimson colour falling to the floor. You grabbed that same cloth you have been using for the past several days whenever this happens.
You quickly wiped away the blood from your face and also the floor, even if it wasn't that sanitary. You tossed the material to the corner of your room before a sudden knock was heard from your door. You know that knock it had to be the head gunner.
"Come in!" You yelled as the door immediately swung halfway open as the tall silver blue-eyed boy poked his head in. "Captain wants to speak with us." He said. You nodded your head. "I'm coming, just give me a bit." You said as he hummed in agreement before he walked away and closed the door behind him.
Why all of a sudden does he want to see us? He could have asked for us this morning... You thought before a groan left your lips. "I should have gone to sleep, I'm so tired." You yawned before rubbing your eyes and walking out of your quarters to the captains' cabin.
You knocked on it once before it had opened and you saw all the most needed crew members in there, all nine of them. You walked in as you closed the door behind you. You went and sat down next to Yeosang and San.
"Glad you all could make time and meet me at this hour," Hongjoong spoke before he continued. "Ji Ah," He said as you looked up at him as you made contact with his singular light blue eye. You felt the gaze of everyone else in the room. "Y-Yes sir?"
God damnit, why did you have to stutter!? You yelled at yourself in your head. "Call me Hongjoong." He huffed as he shook his head, making everyone else chuckle. "Anyways, Changbin said how he wants to teach you some combat skills, and I think that'll be the best so that you can be better and ready for the next time we battle someone." He said.
Wooyoung dramatically cleared his throat before he spoke. "Ya know? I would have been as good as dead if it weren't for him. He saved my life, twice in fact!" He said happily as he looked at you with a much softer gaze. "I think he'll be good with guns, but it won't hurt to teach him close combat." He said.
Hongjoong slowly nodded his head as he crossed his arms and looked at you. "I guess Woo is in your depths now for being his lifesaver, and I do say, we all are." He said as he walked from behind his deck and to you. "If it weren't for you, who knows what would've happened last night. We could have all died." He said as you felt the other members tense.
"True, we owe you for that Ji Ah." Mingi said as he made eye contact with you. You nod your head as you look at Changbin who patted your back as if you did a good job, in which you did. "And I also see you didn't get any sleep." This time it was Seonghwa. You opened your mouth to say something but he held up his hand to stop you.
"I don't wanna hear nothing, go take a chaulk." He said. You furrowed your brows as you looked at him as if he's some crazy shaman. "Excuse me?" You said making everyone else laugh. "He means go get some rest," You heard Yeosang interpret. You simply let out an 'oh' in realisation. You nodded your head before you stood up and made your way to the door. "Oh, and Ji Ah!" You turned around as you looked around for who spoke. "Yes?" "We can start training when you wake up." Changbin said. You smiled as you nodded your head.
"Fine by me." You said before you waved and said goodnight to them all before leaving and going back to your quarters before you almost immediately laid on your hammock as you let it rock with the tilt of the ship as if you put a baby to sleep, in which it was basically doing to you.
Your eyes fell heavy and before you knew it, you fell asleep and went to that forest again.
The boy gasped at what she said before he once again hugged her tightly. And not a second to late you heard quick steps come closer as you heard at least a couple of people call out a name. Once you saw them in sight, they ran to the two little kids. You were about to stop them until they said a name, but you couldn't hear it as if the name was distorted. "F*l**! What are you-? Oh my god, sweetie? Are you okay? Where are your parents?" She asked. The girl opened her mouth but the boy cut you off and told them.
But you didn't hear anything but ringing, a sharp pain that shot through your head as the boy spoke.
It hurts. It really hurts. You want it to stop, you want it to be over.
The couple frowned as they embraced her in a group hug. You saw as tears poured from her face and you did the same. And for a second you both made eye contact and said at the same time, "I'm a monster."
